meat grinder attachment for KitchenAid
Ice Cream Maker attachment for KitchenAid

I've been getting into meat-grinding & sausage-making more lately. My exposure to sausages was very limited previously...hot dogs, frozen breakfast sausage links, and your usual brats & kielbasas. Then I got hooked on the various Johnsonville flavors, which are actually really really good. Currently experimenting with homemade sausages: grind them, pack them, smoke them, sous-vide them, then freeze them to use later. Still in the early stages, but the results are promising!

I have a really good ice cream base recipe if you're looking for one as well! I do mine sous-vide, comes out super-amazing!

I am trying to recreate flavours I remember from my youth. Taiwanese pork sausage, taro ice cream, adzuki bean ice cream and peanut ice cream.

Got this in the mail today. Any guesses what game it is?

Here, this will probably give it away.

Gotta be a Time Crisis game!
Yup it's the first one.

I'll have to first convert it to JAMMA before I can even test it out. Not sure when I will get around to that but it should be a fun project. I've heard it is pretty straight forward.

Got it pretty dirt cheap from a guy who got the cabinet where the picture wasn't working properly. He thinks it's a monitor issue but since I took on the risk I got it cheap. That thing was like $40 to ship though cause of how heavy it and large it is lol.

Ordered but not in yet.
Finish nail guns, 23 and 16 gauge

I think that's everything, I might have forgotten something.

Decided for my birthday, I would treat myself to something nice and useful, and replace my hand-me-down Cutco chef's knife.

I went with the Messermeister 8" Oliva Elite and matching 3.5" paring knife. 15% discount brought it to $187 w/ free shipping.

I'm keeping my current bread knife, and eventually I'll replace my utility knife. I will dive into the Japanese-steel knives at some point, but I think for now I'll be pretty happy!

I just bought thirty things off amazon... o_O
Prime was a bad idea.
This has been the first year since they began doing Prime Day that I didn't buy one single thing from them. That had some decent deals, I just didn't really anything. That said, I did preorder a new toy I really liked from BigBadToyStore, that should be here before the end of the year.

I traded in a HD7 I got years ago for 7.50 credit plus 20% off new Fire HD 10. Came to US$46.80 :awe:

I haven't participated in Prime Day for years despite being a Prime member since I would prefer not to buy in a frenzy. I had no intention of doing it this year either but accidentally did anyway. I saw an offer for $20 off $50 when you use Citi Thankyou Rewards points... even a single point. It was a SlickDeals notification on my phone and it didn't say anything about it being a Prime Day promo. I was genuinely concerned that my Thankyou points would expire soon so I re-ordered something I bought a year and a half ago (400GB microSD) and added something that had been saved for later several weeks ago.

...now I find that the SD card was on Prime day special so I accidentally played into their BS.

I don't have cable, but have lots of TVs in my house. I have 2 smart TVs in 2 media rooms(Vizio and Hisense), but then have 3 non-smart TV's...2 720p Panasonic Plasmas and 1 Samsung LCD. (Living room, bedroom, and kitchen) I finally got a Roku Stick + for one of them to try it out since the plus went on sale for $37 on Amazon and at Best Buy this week. I got the wife to use up some Amazon credit she had. It's neat because the stick pre-programmed itself to control the TV...so it's basically just a Roku TV now. I'm tempted to get 1 more, rather than invest another $250 in another Hisense Roku TV.

eos-5ds-r-dslr-camera.jpg Well, I ordered it but I have doubts I'll get it. Canon has discontinued their entire DSLR line in favor of mirrorless. But, being[real] old school, I am comfortable with SLRs in general. So, instead of spending the three grand this originally went for I got it ordered for $1499. Let's just hope the retailer meets the demand. The non-R version already went permanently OOS.

I haven't bought anything for a while.

Went to bed early, got up early. Was gonna make a loaf in my bread machine but the paddle was stuck in it because I didn't clean it last time I used it. Damn thing wouldn't budge. Tried everything. Finally disassembled the paddle mechanism and hammered the paddle off the spindle. Major issue 99.8% of the populace would never have fixed. I'm just a majorly stubborn fix it guy. I'd rather fix than toss and buy.

I have a Pentax DSLR. Pentax used to be a major player in the film SLR market and they still (last I checked) had some space in the digital SLR market. Cheaper than Canon or Nikon, and you can use all those old Pentax lenses, a real plus. I love my K-x, especially the 18-250 variable zoom, which is what I keep on it most of the time. Uses 4 AA's, I use Eneloops and have never needed to change batteries "in the field."
