Market place is your friend for woodworking tools. Lots of quality gear available at reasonable prices. It's where I picked up my planer, jointer, drill press, and band saw. Old cast iron equipment lasts pretty much forever.
Wish I had the room. Unlike most Texans we actually keep our cars in the garage and my homes two car garage is the one thing I don’t like about it.

So when I’m working a project I have to put a car in the driveway and setup my tools.

I’ve got a Dewalt contractor table saw with the folding rolling stand and I built a router table that fits on top of my folding workbench.

I’d like to get a bench top thickness planer. With that and the table saw and a couple of jigs I could plane and joint most material.

I find residential garages here are made so tiny that it almost feels wasteful to use it for the car as it means it's ONLY for the car. Don't even have room for any kind of workbench or anything. My F150 wouldn't even fit in my garage but if I had a regular car it would still be a tight fit. Going to setup my garage as a woodworking shop instead. Been a work in progress for past few years, hoping to get it insulated this year so I can at least work in it in winter.

My last F150, 2018 SuperCrew had the 5.5' bed. When we were looking at this house, my wife asked if the truck would fit in the garage. "Sure," I said...after we bought the house, I measured it...Truck was 2' too long to get it in the garage and close the door. My "new" F150, 2019 SuperCrew has the 6.5' bed...still doesn't fit. I mean...it's a 3 car garage...If I emptied it out, I could probably angle in, taking up all 3 stalls.

Texas garages can hold a full size pickup. I’ve got a Chevy Suburban which is the same size as a standard quad cab Silverado and fits with inches to spare!

I hate that 8' is so hard to find now. Had to settle for 6' on my new truck. I kinda want the F150 Lightning when I'm ready to buy new, but I hate that it has such a tiny box. You can custom order 8' if you go with the regular F150 but you're paying a lot for it, like 60k+ for a brand new F150.

I don't think the Lightning is available with anything except the 5.5' bed. (at least in the US) Hate to tell ya...$60K is kind of a base model nowadays. For the Lightning, the Pro model...their base model, starts at $54K, the Platinum model starts at about $85K
Just perused the Ford site. The 8' bed is only available in the XL package Regular cab. No Super Cab, no Super Crew.

Yeah I don't think Lightning has any customization, need to go with gas version for 8' box. 60k for that too. The lightning ends up closer to 80k. It's nuts. As much as I'd like an EV I can't financially justify it. Even the gas savings doesn't make up for the initial cost. I spend like maybe $200/mo in gas.

Red could do 8' for $40K (parts ordered from Ali Express) and charge $10K for the services rendered. Give him two years :p

Those Ali Express Kei trucks sometimes look kinda tempting lol.

I also saw you can even buy a tunnel boring machine off there for 600k. It's kinda crazy to think you can just buy that lol. Where we're going we don't need roads! We just make our own.

I gave up the idea of putting a car in the garage the day we moved in here. I knew what I wanted to do, and there was no way that would work with a functional garage. During our week of snow and ice in the dead of winter I can get my wife's car to fit with some rearranging, but that's just so we have a car ready to go incase one of us keels over from God only knows what. Or even worse, one of our dogs gets sick.
I tried to buy a place with a 20x30 shop as well as a garage but the seller refused my offer. They had "fixed up" the place to sell it and it needed about $50k to correct the damage they had done and some other issues the place had.
