The horror of abortion restrictions

All restrictions?

If a woman goes into labor may the child be killed then? If no, then when? Late term? Please go on and describe the specific delineation you want. People have all sorts of different ideas of what is acceptable here.

To begin, you should lay your cards out on the table.

A lot of conservatives are not even close to that extreme in their views on abortion. Nice troll post......

The liberal argument for abortion is that: "It is her body".

So as long as it is within her body she has a right to kill it. Even at 8.9 months. Anything else is anti-choice. It does not stop being her body just because the fetus reaches a certain gestational age.

Every time I hear a liberal say that, I always want to ask them if they're pro-drug legalization, or pro-prostitution. Some of them (the logical ones) are consistent in their thinking, but so many are not - they're just parroting a line they've heard. What they really mean is, "It is her body, sometimes."

Exactly. Liberals and conservatives actually have the exact same beliefs about women's bodies and abortions in general.

They both believe it is her body until the fetus gains personhood. They simply disagree about when personhood is achieved.

EDIT: Of course liberals seem to be scared to engage in an actual debate on personhood and would rather shout "My body, my choice" or "War on women".

Oh, right, people want other people to die horrifying deaths. 🙄

Not everyone is Phokus.

It's not that they want them to, it's that they don't care

It's not a child, the woman should always have control over what happens inside her body.

On the flip side, I wonder how many women die during abortions.

You mean at licenced medical clinics, or at back alley chop shops they're driven to due to laws demanded by religious nut jobs?

I don't think it's really a person until well after it's born (think months). But to be on the safe side I'd consider it a person once it's on the other side of the vagina.

You are a sick and confused individual. Hopefully you are not a parent......

Jmman the problem for liberals is that Blackjack has a logical point.

Many people feel attached to non-human animals. What really separates a new-born human from say a dog?

Given the close emotional attachment the people feel to their infants though this is not really a discussion liberals want to have. It is basically the opposite end of the Republican "rape comments".

The very fact the Republicans don't think they are waging a war on women shows just how far gone they are.

The GOP: Get Out of my Panties

Cats outta the bag fellas. We've been found out. The liberals have discovered that we really do like watching women die horrible deaths.

It was fun while it lasted.

From what I have read, the risk of mortality is less than 0.001% if done in the first trimester, and lower than the risk of carrying to term.

I believe you're mistaken. In addition to the abortion death rate being approximately 3 times higher than carrying to term, there is a 154% increased risk factor for suicide.

"A new study of the medical records for nearly half a million women in Denmark reveals significantly higher maternal death rates following abortion compared to delivery. This finding has confirmed similar large-scale population studies conducted in Finland and the United States, but contradicts the widely held belief that abortion is safer than childbirth."

So are you fine with partial birth abortions then? I mean, the head is still technically inside the vagina when they suck the brains out.

Yes, and yes.

While I am in favor of keeping abortions legal up till a certain point of pregnancy, I have a huge problem with this statement.

This is the society conservatives in this country want. Women dying horrifying deaths so they can satisfy the demands of the most extreme misogynistic religious ideologues. This is what the war on women means, and this is why it was so important to defeat Romney and Ryan.

🙁

What's the next best thing for Rightists if they have absolutely no chance in overturning Roe vs.Wade? Easy make it impossible to receive a LEGAL and safe abortion. Rightists please jam your fucking religion down someone else's neck ummk?
