Math may be the bedrock of all science, and physicis the sturdy root from which chemistry has spawned. But as a guy who lives for food, my money is on gastronomical science. Cause delicious > purity.

Perhaps it is better characterized as just that arbitrary. Pick a god that suits your personal tastes from among the thousands being actively preached as the "one true" god or just invent a personal god to fit your unique needs. No connection or relevance to reality required. IMHO the world might be a better place if people needed more of a reason to believe something.
