Don't worry, it's global warming.

Probably is and is a reason to be concerned.

I hope you're joking. There have been heat waves since the beginning of time. Regardless of your opinion on global warming, its absurd to point at a heat wave and scream "OMGZ SOMEOEN GET AL GORE!!11!"

Dead serious. Heat Waves don't happen everywhere with regularity.

They do in Seattle. Last time it was 100 here was over 40 years ago.

Sick of this stupid weather. I want my rain and overcast skies goddamit. Can't wait for Fall to get here.

I've always like the 40 days and nights of rain we tend to get here. I don't know maybe it just suits my normal mood?

Wow that sounds sad doesn't it 🙂

Nope, I'm with you man.

Fixed for the Future

Not for me, I'm looking forward to clouds, rain, and hopefully a little snow around Christmas time.

hmm, ok,, it'll be me for sure though. Guaranteed.

Seems pretty dry to me. 105 on several signs and my wife's car on the way home south of Tacoma. BTW, a downright chilly 68 in my office and 76 in the rest of the house, 2 $99 window A/C units FTW!

This thread confuses me. Where are you people getting your numbers from?

Portland rarely gets humid heat.

It's 102ºF right now in Portland, and the humidity is 17%. I would consider that about normal.

50% humdity with those temperatures would be insanity.

36% humidity in Vancouver right now. Far too high for my liking.

Where are you seeing that? The humidity at the Vancouver Airport is 19%. All the Personal Weather Stations in the area are reporting from 15-20%.

When the humidity is that low, the heat index actually goes down.

Humidity at the Portland Airport is 20% also. There's no way there is a ~15% difference in just a few miles.

Edit: The humidity in Seattle is 24%. Higher, but still tolerable. Most people in the Pacific Northwest just aren't used to triple digits in general, that's why it feels so miserable. I would certainly be one of the people complaining if I were home, but it would just be because of the temperature, not because of the humidity.

It's been dropping all day: Was Upper 40's earlier, now it's 27%. I live in Coquitlam, approx 20-30 minutes drive East of Vancouver.

I was looking on Wunderground. It definitely feels much stickier than usual. Not as bad as my old Winnipeg days, but bad comparative to what we usually get.

That's where I'm looking also. Which PWS is reporting 36%?

I would not mind like one week of hot weather. This rain sucks, and my cement job on my foundation is never going to dry before winter comes. It's the second year where we just totally skip summer and get this 3 month rain period, then back to winter.

Sounds like oklahoma and the pacific northwest traded weather. Yesterday it was ~75f ~40% humidity at 3pm in OKC (typically hottest part of the day here)
