January 6 insurrectionist finally admits America isn't the country for them.

I think some people can't fathom the concept off living in a democracy of diverse peoples, opinions and ideas and prefer to live under a strong authoritarian regime.

I only wish more insurrectionists (or Trumptards in general) would realize they're un-American and follow Evan's example. Your new passports are waiting for you!!

Not sure if this is related, but this is damn strange.

FBI: Men posing as DHS agents on Jan. 6 task force showered Secret Service agents with cash | Salon.com

On Wednesday, the Associated Press reported that the FBI has arrested two men who posed as Department of Homeland Security investigators, who claimed they were part of a January 6 task force and offered to give gifts to Secret Service agents, including some assigned to the protection detail for members of the First Family.

Sure makes you wonder, if the whole lot of the Secret Service needs to be turned out and replaced. How many incidences in the last 10 years or so at least. Maybe they need to stop thinking ex-military.

"A federal judge on Wednesday issued the first acquittal in a criminal trial stemming from the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, saying prosecutors failed to prove their case against a New Mexico man facing misdemeanor charges. "

I guess the hammer didn't fall hard when the defendant took it before a Judge.

I guess the hammer didn't fall hard when the defendant took it before a Judge.

In a case that could embolden some of the hundreds of other defendants facing minor misdemeanor charges to go to trial rather than seeking plea deals, U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden accepted Matthew Martin's argument that he did not know he was breaking the law when he entered the Capitol complex.

Ok, so your official stance is that ignorance of the law is now OK and judges should give a pass to people who just "didn't know", cool story.

Seems we have a Judge what needs lookin' in to.

Whatever do you mean??

Martin, a former U.S. government contractor from Santa Fe, asserted that police officers allowed him into the Capitol building during the Jan. 6 assault on the building by supporters of former President Donald Trump who sought to prevent Congress from certifying Joe Biden's 2020 presidential election victory.

Judge appointed by Trump? check

Prosecutors were required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Martin knew he was entering a restricted area. McFadden, who was appointed as a judge by Trump, decided prosecutors had not met that burden.

Ignorance of the law is now a defense - check

Martin's lawyer Dan Cron said in an interview that Martin looks forward to moving on with his life.

Following the Capitol riot, Martin lost his top-secret level clearance and his job as a contractor supporting the U.S. Department of Energy's nuclear stockpile in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Oh, I see, so a very fine person with what appears to be a government contracting position, holding top-secret level clearance, had no idea that storming a capital building wasn't legal. -check

Nope, nothing to see here.

I'm sorry Mr. Judge, I didn't know going double the speed limit was illegal, guess I can't be found guilty.

unfortunately nothing will be done about it, as is tradition

I guess we know why Trump Sr. was so desperate to solicit dirt on Hunter from an alleged war criminal. It’s always deflection and projection.
