“The coup attempt is ongoing”: Ex-Trump lawyer John Eastman still trying to overturn 2020 election | Salon.com

But Eastman is not done trying to undo Trump's loss. He was one of several Trump allies who last month secured a two-hour private meeting with Wisconsin state Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, a Republican, to pressure him to "nullify" the 2020 election and "reclaim the electors awarded to Biden," which legal experts say is not possible, according to ABC News.

Florida man charged with attacking officers at Capitol riot

Officials say a Florida man has been arrested for attacking police officers while storming the U.S. Capitol during the January 2021 insurrection

And one of the Munn family of 5 who all entered through a broken window pleads guilty to illegally protesting inside the Capitol. Could get 6 months as opposed to the possible 20 yrs for the Oath Keeper above.

From the article on cnn

"Thomas Webster, who claimed he was defending himself when he swung a metal flagpole at police and tackled one to the ground, choking him by his chin strap, was convicted by a jury on all six charges after roughly two hours of deliberations."

That self-defense argument did not fly with the jury.

Cops are like wind up talking dolls. Slap the cuffs on them and all they can say was "I was in fear for my life!" Old habits die hard for this ex-pig.

On topic but off topic and minor spoilers for new Star Trek series Strange New Worlds. Pike recapping history of their WWIII. They showed scenes from the various protests after the election including Jan 6. Like I get it, very left leaning producers, but doh let’s just incite MAGAtards even more.

Will he get a cave shaped cell?

Son Of Brooklyn Judge Who Stormed Capitol In Fur Pelts Sentenced To 8 Months In Prison

Aaron Mostofsky—a Brooklyn judge's son who was photographed dressed like a caveman in fur pelts inside the Capitol on January 6 and carrying stolen riot gear —was sentenced to eight months in prison on Friday, adding to a growing list of rioters who ...

The headline makes it sound like the judge stormed the Capitol in fur pelts. That would admittedly make for a more exciting story...

Mike Flynn claims he’s being “persecuted” by US Army over his illegal payment from Russia | Salon.com

The Army is seeking to recoup $38,557.06 from Flynn.

"The Army has determined that you did not obtain the necessary approvals before engaging in employment activities with Russia Today (RT), a foreign government controlled entity. Specifically, between December 10-13, 2015, you traveled to Russia and spoke at a conference hosted by the Russian news agency Russia Today (RT). RT requested your participation, had control over the event, and paid for your roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, visa, and a speaker's fee through Leading Authorities, Inc. (LAI). Between December 10-13, 2015, RT transferred $45,386 to LAI, from which you received $33,750 as compensation for your speaking services. In addition, you received $4,807.06 in in-kind compensation for roundtrip airfare, visa costs, hotel accommodations, and ground transportation to and from the airport in Moscow," the Army explained.

Gotta love it: Baked Alaska, the far-right racist who livestreamed himself participating in the insurrection, just had his plea deal voided after he declared himself innocent. He can still return to a plea within 60 days... but, of course, that would mean admitting he's guilty. So he either contradicts himself or is virtually guaranteed to serve prison time.

That's the only reason any of them made the plea deals. That's the main reason most people make plea deals in any criminal matter.

True, but you don't tell the judge that, do you? It's like telling a traffic cop that you were speeding because you didn't think you'd get caught.

The Judges know what plea deals are.

Prosecutors use them to entice people to plead to lesser charges so they don't have to go through full trials.

Accused take them so they can face 6 months instead of 6 years.
