Not News. After St Ronni scrapped fairness, Rupie The Aussie created FAUX Snooze to further a right wing angle to counter CNN and MSNBC and capitalize on Lush's attacks on Bubba. The entire purpose of it was to be biased.

"The channel was created by Australian-American media mogul Rupert Murdoch to appeal to a conservative audience, hiring former Republican media consultant and CNBC executive Roger Ailes as its founding CEO.[9][10] It launched on October 7, 1996,"

I agree the purpose has always been propaganda but Fox has used its news arm to launder their propaganda through a more credible source. (the play is basically that an opinion host generates controversy and the news arm reports on the controversy without explicitly endorsing it) This is why people like Chris Wallace and Shep Smith were recruited, because they are genuine, serious journalists. It's why Fox News' polling division is a perfectly respectable organization.

To maintain that credibility requires accepting objective reality though, and since Trump the GOP has increasingly rejected reality so now a choice has to be made because the Trumpkins are now demanding outright rejection of reality instead of just slanting it.

Conspiracy, obstruction of an official proceeding and theft and destruction of government property.

Whoa, DOJ is mulling using the 1970 "Mafia" law? Or official name RICO statute. In which that law can be used against organized crime. The Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers.

If it IS used, rioters can be sentenced up to 20 yrs and seizure of assets.

It tickles me a bit when I think about all of those insurrectionists that haven't gotten a call from the FBI yet. They must be calling their lawyers, sweating it out like any fugitive on the run would, imagining the worst that could happen to them.

And all because they believed the BIG LIE Trump pleaded with them to act out on his behalf. lol

So why isn't Trump hiring lawyers for them, yes ALL of them seeing as if he put them up to it.

I guess loyalty is a one way deal, isn't that so Donald?

"Proud Boys stand back and stand by"

they stood by alright, with 3 more months to prepare.

He was a big part of it, do you think trumpers would have gone so crazy about fraud without him repeating it all the time leading up to the election and then continuing to tell these people not to back down.

I thought Trump was behind the riot?
I'm confused by this statement - are you saying that other inciting statements Trump said before January 6th would somehow absolve him of responsibility for inciting statements he made on January 6th?

That would be a novel legal argument, haha. 'I couldn't have incited them on January 6th because they were already incited by statements I made back in October!'

yeah, this has been discussed for a little while now.

But hey, here's the really fun fact about going RICO here: You know what DA pioneered the use of RICO to take down the NY Mafia, then establishing its use in similar prosecutions?

Rudolf the Red-nosed Drunkey. ...would be great to see his own shit bring him down, too. lol.

I had thought that Trump asked those dopes to go storm congress and stop them from "stealing the election". I had no idea there was a group actually planning an attack. What made a bunch of window lickers think they could actually have any effect on the election is beyond me.
I should note here that I pretty much stopped paying attention back in November. I maxed out on stupid and gave up keeping track of it. I read an occasional blurb and that's about it. My focus has been pretty much work related with a couple projects coming to an end, a new one to get off the ground, and trying to find time to complete a small remodel that I'm doing gratis.

Trump made it perfectly clear that he'd go to any length to hold power & there were obviously those willing to follow him. He was casting aspersions on the process before the election & went straight to the Big Lie of it being stolen when he lost. It's utterly preposterous. He just didn't get the support he needed to pull it off. Now we get to deal with the broken minds he left in his wake, people so gullible that they believe it was stolen.

Without Trump lying about the election, there would have been no riot. So yeah, he was most definitely "behind" it.

When the Electoral voted on Dec 15, Trump had no legal constitutional recourse remaining. Yet he persisted, fabricated colossal untruths, and would have seized power if given the support he needed. That's perfectly obvious. He's a traitor to his oath and a domestic enemy to the Constitution itself. If the GOP won't admit the truth of that, they're complicit.

Another "patriot" arrested after being turned in by his family. I guess they got tired of him couch surfing to evade arrest?

A Capitol rioter filmed breaking the windows where a Trump supporter was fatally shot was arrested after a relative told on him, FBI says

Let’s put this into perspective. We have a family that is willing to turn in a family member for the good of the country, compare that to a Republican Party that tries to censure a party member who voted to impeach a president.

Country before family vs party before country. If you aren’t disgusted by that then you are part of the problem.

Yeah, I read that piece on her. She really, really should have thought about those kids and who's going to take care of them while she's in prison, before deciding to raid the capitol building.

Now to be fair, most families are probably happy to rid of these assholes.
