The guy who designed this keyboard layout should be shot.

Got a keyboard at work with this vertical layout for the home, end, del keys. Drives me nuts as that's the delete key I use most of the time and when I go looking for it I'm always hitting enter or slash. Luckily I'm not usually at that station.

Yeah that's annoying too, especially coming from Canada here where you see it all over the place. Still I can usually work around that. First thing is to remove the French keyboard in Windows and most of the keys revert back to normal, though some of the keys are just completely out of place.

My worst gripe is the FN key where the left ctrl key should be. Fucking idiots.

depends on the device. i wish the FN button on my phone was on the corner instead of shift, for damn sure. but yeah, on a normal PC ctrl belongs there.

the lame layout in the OP has been around long enough that i just don't use the delete key. i use too many different PC's so i'm pre-programmed for backspace.

My laptop has that. At first I was like "WTF?" then I was like "Oh, the fn keys to turn the keyboard light on and off are at the corners of the keyboard and thus easy to find in the dark" so I was okay with it but then I thought "How often do I need to type in total darkness?" and I was back to "WTF?" but then I found a fix for it on an internet forum and thus discovered that I really didn't care all that much because I was too disinterested to even read the thread. True story.

please tell me that's a joke?

they've already quadrupled (or more) the size of the ipod touch. now they're going to double it again and put a scroll wheel on it?

It actually bothers me MORE that the Win logo key is offset by Fn. Win+R is my most-used keyboard shortcut, which I use hundreds of times per day.

Yes, because according to Apple haters all Apple does is take other companies ideas and make them into an Apple product. So if they never make anything from their own ideas, then there's no possible way they could make the device you mistook for one of their actual up and coming products.

First on I had with that design was the Logitech S510. The aesthetic design was nice, but I never got used to that layout. SO MUCH WASTED PRODUCTIVITY!!!

Sadly it wouldn't shock me if Apple really did something like this just to be different. :D
I sometimes use a piece of industrial equipment where the interface requires the entry of a lot of numbers, and some letters. The control buttons are up-, down-, left-, right-arrows, and a rotary knob. There are no alphanumeric keys anywhere. You must scroll through menus by using the arrows, then rotate the knob to change the selected option on the screen, press the knob, then rotate the knob to advance the digits up or down.
So they effectively took a numeric keypad and replaced it with a wheel - and somehow thought it was a good idea to go to market with it.

Well, since the Onion already 'made it' for them they can now indeed copy it. And seeing you seem to be one of those Apple fanboys (at least judging from this whining of yours) you'll probably go out and buy the overpriced piece of crap the moment it's released.
