Yay, I finally got to do Muse's Knights of Cydonia last night.
I also got to experience true sadness as I missed the 2nd to last note on a song... on a song where up until that point I had 100% notes hit.

I'm a noob that plays on Easy. I own GH2 but I never really played it and never really cared for GH to begin with... I still prefer DDR over it
. Although, I seem to be 4 or 5 star'ing just about every song I play regardless of its level (as in how far down on the list it is), so maybe I should do some practices in medium and start trying that once I beat the game on easy!
My biggest problem is that I cannot activate star power for the life of me. It becomes a real test of power to try to activate it using the back button while playing... you gotta be able to do it fast and still be able to hit the strum bar to get the notes! I mean, I've done the whip plenty of times and it's only ever worked once.

I usually have to sacrifice a note to activate it but I'm slowly getting better.
If you're having that much trouble getting Star Power to activate I'd say you've got a bad guitar. I've never had a problem activating star power unless I was leaning really far back. There's no trick to activating it.Originally posted by: Aikouka

On some of my "best" songs, I didn't even use star power, because I could never find an opening like that. It's easy when there's a little pause (or a long one) or you can find a nice hold note to reach down. It gets a bit easier when you learn the distance between the strum bar and the back button. I just wish I could get the stupid tilting down so I wouldn't have to.

edit: This is using the 360 Xplorer and the PS2 guitars.

I think it depends on what the majority of your friends will be playing it on, so you can play some co-op online. Achievements are a plus, too, if you like to shoot for some of the goals. I know you were a PS3 owner first, so achievements may not do it for you.

Achievements and an online co-op are the differences to my knowledge. I'm not sure if the DLC will be any different.
I think it can also depend on which you think will have more people. To be honest, I think I saw more 360 versions sell than PS3 in my area and I don't know if that's relative to all, but 360, Wii and PS2 versions definitely looked like they were selling more than the PS3. I know Circuit City and Target were both sold out of the 360 bundle but the PS3 bundle was so plentiful it took multiple shelves.

There are jokes to be made about the Achievements in this particular game not swaying anyone, but I'm not feeling terribly creative.

I don't even understand what they were thinking with these achievements. They are so bad.

How so? They're about what I expected. Beating the game on each difficulty, beat dragonforce on expert, play coop games, etc...

I cleared it on Medium, 4 and 5 starring everything.. but man, I tried Hard and get my ass kicked. Any tips on that orange fret? It's like.. my hands don't want to work.
When I switched from Medium to Hard back in GH2, it was just practice. I'm to the point now where I don't have to think about it, I can move my hand around without always having to make contact with something, and be fine. My problem now is that the notes come too fast and my fingers can't keep up.
Yea, I asked my friend about it and she said I'll get used to it eventually.. but I'm thinking about it and its mind boggling to even think that I'll get used to it.
