We need everybody to switch back to GH3 we are falling in the ranks.

And I need somebody else with a Wii to play me online. I always have no luck finding games online. Takes me like 20 minutes to find a partner to play with.

I'm trying to beat it on hard currently. Got 94% done on it once, but I was dead at the end. Although I just discovered what Hammer-on and Hammer-offs were. Always wondered what those notes with the light on them were :) Keep in mind this is the first GH i've owned.

It's quite an accomplishment to get that far in the game and never hit a HO/PO note.

Yea really what did you do on My Name is Jonas? You strummed all of those HOPOs?

Still can't beat KoC on hard... PO triplets are killing me. Starpower doesn't even help.

Still haven't beat My Name is Jonas on expert. I get about 88% but by then my fingers are heavy and I can't get them off the frets or slide them fast enough. I will probably beat this before I beat KOC on hard.

On making the move from medium to hard - what are your best suggestions to hitting the orange key? I have read starting with your index finger on the red and pinky on the orange is the best ...

Since it seems like a tough transition, shouldn't I be finishing the medium songs on at least 4 stars before trying to do hard? Dont want to get too frustrated and I realize I will probably never do much on expert at the pace I am on.

Just practice are you will eventually get used to it.

As for going far without HO/PO I have tried many times to learn how to do either of them and simply cannot do it. I've gotten to the Aerosmith song on expert and I'm stuck, but it's possible to go pretty without learning them.

It's a tough transition, but if you're able to 4 star some of the songs on the last few tiers of medium, you should definitely give Hard a shot.

I don't think there are many tips that work universally for everyone, but I will say that I personally didn't get to Raining Blood on Expert by staying within my comfort zone. So push yourself, see how far you can get on Hard, even if it means failing some songs.

I also had a tough transition from medium to hard. Be prepared to fail some songs. I found that it is easier for me to use my index on green and just slide my hand down and use pinky to hit orange. It may be the opposite for you though, some people find it easier to slide up from position 2. Find a song you like and won't mind playing over and over and then just play it in quickplay or practice mode until you get used to hitting those O notes. (NOTE: I do not suggest using TTFAF)

Another thing that might help is playing medium with hyperspeed on. Playing tier 8 songs with hyperspeed on level 3 or 4. This will get you used to moving your fingers faster. I'd say if you can 4 star the last tier and also songs like FCPREMIX or Take This Life on medium then you are definitely ready for hard.

Lots of hours of playing is the only way to get better. I have lots and lots of total points but about half of them (over 20 million) are on medium songs. I was stuck playing medium for a long time because I couldn't beat many songs on hard but now I've almost beat hard and I'm halfway done with expert.

W00T!!!! I finally beat KoC on hard. I was in the red and had full starpower waiting and once I started blinking I activated it and I just barely made it out of the HOPO triplets. From then on it was smooth sailing and I passed it then 4 starred Cult of Personality. Then from the last tier I beat CoD and NotB. On One I failed in Solo A (big surprise there right? lol) but I think if I would have had starpower I might have just scraped by. Raining Blood can suck my balls.

Amen! I played GH3 when the Halo theme came out for download and that's all since Nov. 20th. In fact, I put GH3 back in it's huge box and left GH2 out. I still take GH2 for a spin every now and then. Here's hoping Neversoft does better with GH4. I'm far more likely to simply buy songs for Rock Band though.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111!!1!1!!!!!!11111!!1 Tonight was huge for me! Just beat My Name is Jonas and a few other songs in the next tier on expert. Holiday in Cambodia is going to be tough but I think the Aerosmith song I'll be able to beat tomorrow, just need to get the pattern down plus I think my fingers are fatigued a little. Over halfway done with expert :)

Until I can use my rock band guitar to tackle Raining Blood on expert I won't be playing GH3 again. The GH3 guitar has only seen action when we're playing rock band =P

That's what I thought, until I was on my 70th try against Lou.

It's so appropriate, too, because the ending Boss Battle is the sick, sadistic work of the devil. Stupid GH3.

raining blood and one left on expert...god this is gonna be painful...

That's where I left my progress on GH3... it's all the worse knowing that the game doesn't even consider you as having "beaten" Expert until you finish not only those two songs, but then a ridiculous battle of luck with Lou.

In general, I think I'm done with GH series. Yeah, I have fun with it, but I think its going to be used as a party game from now on and not much more. I just dont want to spend the time getting really good at Hard or Expert. I'd rather play Halo or COD... or maybe Paradise next week.

Anyone want to take over Sochl Tour Group?

I would but I'm not sure I could. Right now I only go to school but I'll be getting a job and track season starts all within the rest of this month so all of my free time will be occupied by my girlfriend.

Plus I'm not very consistent when it comes to videogames. Once I get bored of them they are lucky to get played once every 6 months.

Is anybody else from here still playing this or did everybody switch to rockband?

My current status is I'm stuck on Cult of Personality on expert because of the solo that takes up a good chunk of the song. I can 100% nearly everything outside of the big solo so if I just take it in to practice for a while I should get it.

I need to beat Lou on hard but I'm really just trying to 5 star my last few songs on hard and beat CoP on expert right now. Lou can wait.

I'm also trying to reach 5,000 groupies but I'm not sure if I'll do that anytime soon.

EVeryone with any sense has switched to Rock Band...

Even Activision has switched to Rock Band...
