Fudzilla has a corresponding report on the GTX 770.
  • 1046 MHz base, 1085 MHz boost
  • 2/4 GB
  • 7 Gbps memory
  • 230 W TDP
I'm quite surprised at the TDP… it seems quite high.

Here you go guys, the latest news!

http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/31429-nvidia-geforce-gtx-780-detailed

According to an Nvidia-made performance slide that we had a chance to see, which pits the new card to AMD's Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition, the GTX 780 should end up anywhere between 25 and 50 percent faster than the HD 7970 GHz Edition, with exception of the Tomb Raider where it is faster by around 20 percent.

This is interesting as well

http://wccftech.com/evga-teases-acx-cooler-geforce-gtx-780-geforce-gtx-770/

Interesting, it's substantially faster than a titan? ;)

Titan is <32% faster then GHz.
http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/grafikkarten/2013/test-nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan/7/

Ah yeah, Tomb raider.

Titan's not even 20% faster than the ghz (19.5%)

Titan is >30% faster with Boost.
And nVidia is using games in which they are much faster and without SSAA.

I just showed you benchmarks that disprove you? If you disagree let's see some numbers.

Here's another.

Oh i forget: There are some people here who don't get the facts like: There is a difference between 25 games and 5 games...

Fudzilla has a corresponding report on the GTX 770.
  • 1046 MHz base, 1084 MHz boost
  • 2/4 GB
  • 7 Gbps memory
  • 230 W TDP

In this article they are claiming the GTX 770 will be faster than a 7970 GE by 10-20% with a boost clock of 1084Mhz. Does that seem right?? I would think a 7970 GE would come out on top in the majority of games..

The memory bandwidth has been increased by 17%, so a stock gtx770 should be faster than a stock 7970GE, but no not by 10-20%. Probably 5-10%.

^_^ I missed that, forgot the GTX 680 has memory clock of 6000Mhz.

But would that added bandwidth really help much in current games?

EDIT: I assume that Nvidia is fine tuning the GTX 770 to make sure it's equal to or beats the 7970 GE.
Could we see AMD release a 7980 GE :D

Yeah that's impossible. That boost clock is the same sort of boost I saw on my 680s. The 770 sounds like a simple rebadge of the 680.

What a crock. Memory speed doesnt add 5-10% fps vs the 7970.

Also the 7970 hits 1600-1800mhz on the VRAM quite easy and very often.

Titan is 31.5% faster in that graph you provide.

Indeed it is. So about 30% across the board on those two sites. The other link was 29%.

Regardless, it's about 30%. Interesting that the 780 according to nv slides is 25-50% faster? Doesn't anyone else notice the irony here?

Now I just noticed, see the few posters here who are emphasizing the last ~3 games that have been released above anything else on the market even if they are widely used. Hmm, I see where they get the idea.

I don't see sontin refuting anything, just fud as usual.

Yeah.. I'm taking the percentages for the GTX 780 and GTX 770 with a grain. Just not making much sense.

The irony here is that you are the only one who believes that nVidia runs a whole benchmark marathon with 25 games and uses settings which are not fitting their cards.

And yet you can't refute hard evidence. I'm waiting.

:eek:The 25%-50% faster than the 7970GE does not add up since Titan is only ~30% faster and those rumours make GTX780 faster than Titan. If the leaked specs are correct then it would fall right between 7970GE and Titan. That in turn would make the $700 rumoured price into rip of territory.

65% price increase for a ~15% performance increase is silly money. Even 7970 gave a better price/perf increase than that. I hope the $700 price rumour for GTX780 is fake.

Seems people aren't going on the game to game bases the 25-50% figure came from and somehow equated a broad spectrum number as an average...

How is Titan 100% faster than the 7970 in MP3? thats the SLI Titan. The Titan is only a few FPS faster at 1080p

Also WTF is a Titan MAX. Why dont they just OC the 7970 to 1200mhz and call that the MAX?

So your point here is that Titan OC is faster than stock 7970GE or at ridiculous res and settings that even Titan struggles at?

Titan is a great card (crap price) but when we measure GPU vs GPU performance we usually measure average performance stock vs stock. When we do that Titan is on average ~30% faster than 7970GE. In some cases it is higher than 30% and in others it is lower, that's how averages work. Let's not play silly games, we are trying to gauge speeds of the new Nvidia 7x0 cards here. We know for a fact that GTX780 will not be faster than Titan, which means GTX780 must be under 30% on average faster than 7970GE.

The problem is that basic mathematics dictate that the average must fall somewhere between 25% and 50%. Which of course isn't logical because we already know Titan is around that speed already.
