Reggie Miller?

You're shocked at that? I think most people would agree with me...

WTF?

Oh, he is certainly an all-time great, but noone says, "I want to be like Reggie"

Elway baby.

Montana was in during the stale years, the 49er conference was always and still is a complete joke. Try getting to a bowl all in 1 peice with the Raiders, Chargers and Chiefs at your throat. The NFC east has a tough road too.

So I guess beating the best that could come out of the rest of the NFL doesn't mean anything then. Even 4 times? Hmmm...have to disagree with you there.

I'm not one of them. Reggie is a great player, but he never dominated the way MJ did. Now it has been a bunch of years since I watched basketball - so maybe Reggie has won tons of championships in the last few years, but I still don't think he was ever in MJs category.

When that guy got hot on dropping shots from the 3-point line, it was tough to stop him. He could turn a game around pretty quick once he got rolling.

is a tough road too??

NFC east has always been the toughest conference. giants, skins, pokes have all won the big one multiple times, the eagles have always been competitive but just not good enough.

i'd take the nfc east of 80's over any conference.

Since when was a super bowl ring the measurement?

Jim Brown was one of the best RB's to ever play the game, but it was IMPOSSIBLE for him to get a silly ring.

Last I checked, this whole thread was about who you want to have their hands on the ball during crunch time - NOT who is the best at their sport. There are TONS of players that were much better than Reggie, but the guy was a seriously good clutch player.

I don't think you can be considered "The Greatest QB Ever" without having won at least one Superbowl. In fact, I'm sure of it.

BS... What about Dan Marino.... he's certainly worth consideration.

I voted for Montana though... cuz well... duh.

Teams that were stretched thin to make it to the bowl. San Fran could relax and use conservative plays and save the best for last. It does make it easier, sorry to throw down facts, but they are fun to play ;)

Yeah, but Jordan only had one "The Shot", but Reggie won so many games with last second daggers they simply gave up counting. Jordan was a superior player for 98% of the game - but with the chips down and seconds to go, Miller WAS the go-to man like never before - or possibly ever. He couldn't come close to Jordan on defense, leadership, or style - but man could he make last-second shots from as far away as you could see the basket - even when the other team KNEW he was getting the ball. It's like that's all he lived to do...

Last second basketball hero? Reggie all the way...if you don't believe it, go watch the tapes of his last game in Detroit - when the home team called a time out so that he could walk off the floor for his last time to a standing ovation...

I'm not going to disagree with you on Miller's late game heroics, but saying Jordan had one big shot is about as ignorant as it gets. Just off the top of my head:

1982 National Championship game
1989 v. Cavaliers over Ehlo
1998 v. Jazz over Russell

One won a playoff series, one won an NCAA championship and one won an NBA championship. Not a bad top three big shots to hit. And those are just the three I could envision while typing.
