636k !!

Congratulations! Our records indicate that a computer registered by you has found a unique prime number. This computer is running BOINC, is attached to the PrimeGrid project, and is assigned to the Proth Prime Search (LLR2). What makes this prime unique is that it's large enough to enter the Top 5000 List in The Largest Known Primes Database.

Since you have auto-reporting selected, the following prime was submitted on your behalf:

Added 139123 : 7605*2^2115797+1 (636923 digits)

This prime was found on this workunit which will automatically show as a prime result after verification by the Largest Known Primes Database.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us and we will surely resolve any problems.

Once again, congratulations on your find! Thank you for participating in PrimeGrid.

The house temp dropped like a rock, even though I only turned off 5 boxes. I still have 7 running full tasks of WCG. but it was maxed at 86c with 3 windows open. Down to one open and its 74c ! avx-512 really heats things up !

must have been from an invalidated task !
It's actually the regular first task 0 of the workunit. And the corresponding fast proof task went out quickly and was returned quickly. What must have taken so long was certainly the validation process which happens afterwards. I don't know if the reporting from PrimeGrid to T5k, or the checks at T5k took much of the time.

22 Jan 2025 | 13:21:38 UTC ... your task reception
22 Jan 2025 | 13:34:24 UTC ... your result return
22 Jan 2025 | 13:56:34 UTC ... fast proof task generation
22 Jan 2025 | 13:57:19 UTC ... fast proof task sent to a host
22 Jan 2025 | 14:43:51 UTC ... result of fast proof returned to PrimeGrid
[I think what happens next is that PrimeGrid performs a prime test with a different algorithm. Does @Ken g6 or anybody know more?]
1/23/2025 17:07:12 UTC ... prime "submitted" to T5k (whatever this means)
1/23/2025 17:52:48 UTC ... prime tested with pfgw by T5k on a cloud computer

PPSE is now officially in T5K.

In order to give the server a little bit of rest, please stop running PPSE until TdP starts.

Remember, a Folding@home challenge starts in 21 hours.

I have all 9 4xxx series cards( 4 4080 and 5 4090) going and ~200 million ppd and that will not change for the rest of the month.

correction the stats show ~185 mil...

last 6 days stats (1/23 day is not complete), but you can see why I said ~200 mil

It varies with project. I don't think PPSE does. However, T5K does try to use a different algorithm whenever possible. Hence, PFGW.

Ugh. Temperatures reach 70F (21.1C) this week. Windows are open and the air conditioning is running. I long for January's low teens, for the tour of primes.

Running GFN17 mostly, on CPU and GPU, as soon as I get my 2025 participation Badge(s), I'm out (probably).

@Markfw . You helped ensure PPSE stayed in the top 5000, it is only fitting you attempt to get a Tour de Primes 2025 badge, so get to crunching PPSE again until you grab another "small" prime! (If you are not already doing so...)

Found a GFN17 just a couple days into TdP
Not sure if I'll stick with GFN17 or move on to something more substantial like SR5 🤔

Anyone going for a large prime?

I'm running GFN-19 on a GPU currently but I know it's basically a lottery ticket. Will hopefully add some more GPU's on it later. Still running GFN-17 on my CPU's, have found 2 so far.

Woo, I got one so three new badges for Mega, 2025 TdP and 2025 M.
I was confused for a bit yesterday as I got an email about it. But no PM and it wasn't showing in my profile either.

It seems to take them about half a day or more before T5K verifies them. Guess they're processing so many at a time right now, especially with PPSE returning multiple tasks per day that they're a little slow on getting them verified.
