Workunit 1174112154 : 7707*2^2058463+1 (619663 digits)

We are at 621,482 digits right now.

The rate at which T5K will grow will be a little bit slower for a little bit as the next 11 primes to fall off T5K are all within' 1K digits.

With the leading edge of PPSE currently at 621,556 that means even if some new T5k Primes are found then it won't raise the T5K tailing edge that much for a little while.

Also notice some of the dates that some of those primes were found. As far back as May 2023. That means they were found 11+ years ago and are just now falling off the T5K.

On T5k progress rate:

I queried the T5k for primes with a reporting age of up to 28 days.
This came up with 49 primes, that is, there were about 12 primes per week added to T5k on average during the past 4 weeks.
Half of them were GFN-17 primes. GFN-17 is currently popular as PrimeGrid's easiest way to find megaprimes.

PrimeGrid's BOINC notice from end of December which advised to run PPSE and *not* to run GFN-17 for now, *if* one wants to have PPSE back in the T5k at the beginning of February, seemingly did not reduce the rate of GFN-17 prime discoveries. (But I didn't take the lag between testing and reporting into account; maybe it did slow down a little.)

any idea who johnnevermind really is ?
Haha that would be me. I’ve been on here for years but just got back to crunching when I was trying to kill a battery on my MacBook Pro before Apple Care ran out. I started with SETI and have always been a silent Anandtech member. Now mostly run projects that have native Apple Silicon GPU apps. Been moving between a few different countries and settled back into Tokyo but most of my hardware is in the US. Also just picked up a prime -

Workunit 1176534317 : 4005*2^2066040+1 (621944 digits)

I'll wave at you as you zoom past me on FAH @mmonnin03 🤣

On a separate note, 2 Primes today-

Found on a Xeon Platinum 8480+ Workunit 1176648327 : 3035*2^2066417+1 (622057 digits)

Found on a Xeon Platinum 8259CL - Workunit 1176730963 : 3783*2^2066684+1 (622138 digits)

Edit - one more found overnight
Found on a Xeon E5-2696 v4 - Workunit 1175446363 : 4663*2^2062622+1 (620915 digits)

and one more just now -
Found on a Xeon Platinum 8461V - Workunit 1177520037 : 9165*2^2069207+1 (622898 digits)

I don't care enough to deal with the fah software at the moment to install it on my BOINC crunchers. I'm just focused on trying to get PPSE into the TK5 Feb. 1st.

I'm hardly running any GPUs at the moment. Focusing all my cores on PPSE.

does that mean I can let up until the 20th ?

We can't completely pull off because new primes will push PPSE back off the T5K, but we can slow down a little since we've made it to the goal line now. Just need to keep watching it to make sure we don't fall off or anything.
