I do not think it would be that quick.
Nobody ever does.

Overall, the actually policy that we will see is the incorrect move on keeping a homogeneous gaming culture. Chinese game makers will control genre markets that were previously reserved to EA, Activision-Blizzard, Ubisoft, etc. While these groups will over antagonize the group that they lost sinking their ships.
Video games? That is your concern?

It is the largest entertainment market. Where aggressive political actors can use the medium as propaganda.

2023: ~334.9 million generic US population with ~194.2 million gaming US population. Which is 58% of the total population with this expected to grow a bit faster between 2024~2028.

Yup! Pretty dramatic gains with voters of color. What were they thinking? Bad move.
Blacks and Latinos tend to be more conservative. In the past community interactions helped to keep them voting for Dems, but we continue to replace community with social media. Now if anyone tries to explain why Dems are better for people of color, they are just painted as an Elitist.

Why do the Dems have to be the only ones with agency? Shouldn't the GOP, after the monstrous transformation the last 8 years, also look inward to self correct?
Religious movements do not self correct. They grow like a cancer. Once they have enough power it'll be persecution of unbelievers.
And as the Church of MAGA is winning, what self reflection do they need?

You're correct, they have no incentive to change. Or even to moderate. They will continue to get more extreme until voters tell them no, which probably won't happen.

Women not caring at all about Dobbs was not the result I was expecting, and I was pretty pessimistic.

Yeah it appears that the abortion issue simply lost steam. If the GOP is smart, they will leave it alone for now as even multiple red states have enshrined protections. A nation-wide ban might re-energize some of those voters, and even then I'm not so sure anymore. Seems like people just don't care.

Oh, I've seen the self reflection MAGA is interested in. To see their reflection towering above the pools of blood on the streets.

I'm guessing the more well off college educated women figure they can just go out of state if necessary. A national ban would maybe rile them up a lot more, but at this point I wouldn't bet the farm on that either.

Lot of politics being pushed right now in video games? I honestly wouldn't know, it's the first I am hearing about it.

Yup, the end stage of theocratic governance isn't softening of theocratic ideals, it's hardening it. Harmonizing it. Institutionalizing it. Mandating it.

You'd be surprised. Trump/trumpy references show up an unexpected number of times in things like manga, anime, video games.

I’ve seen suggestions that Trump should turn part of Puerto Rico into an “uber-Guantanamo Bay” for illegal immigrants and asylum seekers.

Good luck with that.

Yeah, but Biden is old and called some hateful people garbage, and people (Republican plants) in this Ohio diner are worried about blank.

Don't count it out. If I told you in early 2001 that Gitmo would even be a thing, you would have laughed it off.

They are just waiting for the first incident (illegal immigrant commits a crime, terrorist attack, Palestine protestors, etc) to come down as HEAVY HANDED as possible.

You simply lack imagination.

Oh boy. Anything with a character that's non-white, non-straight, or is a woman that isn't a fuck doll is "woke" and one of the signifiers of the fall of the West in gaming right now.

The extreme western politics stuff do not have a large market. They have large complaints from either side. Alex Jones: NWO Wars didn't get a lot of players and Dustborn didn't get a lot of players.

However, it is the ones with subtle positions like Advanced Warfare(etc. Spec ops: The line) to watch. Which is an anti-PMC game with a very specific anti-Tech populist slant. It isn't meant to get locked in but it is meant to lean people away. Basically, watch out for WarX Group, Elon Musk's new Trump-sponsored Private Military Corporation. Which will solve all your problems without using the U.S. Military.

The games to watch are contemporary or near-future with a subtle message. That are on PC, Console, Mobile platforms which can lead to a large population mentally digesting subtle propaganda. Which can influence long-term think-development into leaning towards a specific Chinese-supportive think.

So, basically watch Delta Force by Team Jade/TiMi Group (Tencent games). Since, it is contemporary to near-future, its story campaign and lore likely has subtle propaganda.
