Here's an scenario from hell for Donald Trump. Trump steals the election with stopping ballots being counted or thru his stacked supreme court. Then, democrats take back the senate. I see another impeachment but this time it works.
This is true. He's too stupid and thinks if he cheats his way to reelection, he's in the clear. Here's hoping Dems take all senate seats up this November

Conviction requires a 2/3 majority. There's basically no chance of the Dems taking that many seats (or enough GOP Senators finding their consciences.)

Also, if Trump should succeed in his effort to "get rid of the ballots", he'd also be throwing away a large number of votes for Democratic senators. The coup would leave little room for a Democratic majority in the Senate.

Stupid rigged elections.

Yeh, that has the special "he who smelt it, dealt it" tang, huh? Like we're supposed to believe that the Director was just poking around in the dumpster like always...

Interesting scenario. Would be bloody juicy in the history books but personally I'd like it to be pretty much a done deal by first week in November. I'm so sick of the shenanigans, you know, we really don't have time for this shit if we're going to survive the 21st century.

Edit: Yeah, 2/3 means a bunch of Republican senators would have to defect from the Trump hypnotic state they've willingly put themselves in. I've been an optimist all my life but the first two decades of the 21st century have finally turned me into what could best be called a hopeful pessimist.

Let's face it, Trump or no Trump:

We're Doomed, Now What?

I think the word really needs to get out, especially among younger apathetic voters, to get their asses out and vote in person. Early returns suggesting Trump is way behind will help diminish the narrative of him winning early, but losing due to later "rigged" mail in votes for Biden. I'm all for mail in voting, but this time I will stand in line all day on 11-3-2020 to cast my ballot if need be.

I actually agree with some of the stupid Trump memes on FB, if you can go to Walmart you can vote in person. Especially this time. HTFU.
Except Walmart makes rednecks wear masks and you can go when it isn't busy. Even in a normal year here I have to wait more than hour, usually two, to vote. I don't want to wait in that kind of line with a bunch of Trump supporters that don't believe in masks or distancing.

Someone voting by mail is still a hell of a lot better than not voting all. Trump is trying to make people scared of it so they don't vote at all.

I scares me to think that this was the plan about not wearing masks from leadership all along. Get the scaredy cat Dems to just vote by mail. OH yea, break the USPS on purpose, with this goal in mind.

Pod Save America talked about this in March. Convince Republicans there is nothing to be afraid and they'll go vote while Dems don't.

MSNBC's Kornacki is going over all the polls now. I hope he's right. Does not bode well for the Orange Menace.

Scream "election fraud" for 5 years straight.

Claim election fraud.

Use your 1/3 personally appointed USSC to judicially bless coup.

No.

Go early. Don't wait until November 3rd. It'd be like postponing surgery until the day the tumor kills you.

Can't do anything in my state until the ballet shows up in the mail. I'm not worried about that part, as I can get one from the country auditor if it doesn't make it. And I plan on using the county drop box, completely avoiding the mail on that end.

What I mean is, don't wait until November 3rd to stand in line to vote.

At the earliest possible time, get your vote cast. The best way to protect the Constitution is to vote as early as possible.

If you want to be active on November 3rd, drive someone to their polling place, or work as an election judge for your county.

Anyone who can vote in person before November 3rd should do so. As early as possible.

All Trump's screwing around seems to be getting the message out to people to vote as soon as humanly possible.

NC for example has already had 22% of requested mail ballots returned, processed, and accepted and it is still SEPTEMBER.

Links??

Little would cheer me more in these dark times than to see him trounced in the election and the Republican Party dragged down with him. Inasmuch as they've completely lost their moorings, there's not much to keep them from swirling down the drain with him. I'd say hurrah and dance my ass off.

I suppose this has been posted in this thread [or some other thread(s)], but I've not seen it. I have been kind of blurry on this whole thing about Trump not accepting defeat. This article spells this out in scary detail:

So some people at the Pentagon is anticipating that this *might* be a thing?

Seriously, that Atlantic article is the scariest thing I've encountered about Trump presidency and by miles. READ IT! This is shaping up to be a slam dunk for the worst POTUS election in the nation's history and by far. In fact it's looking like that would be hard to avoid.

At best, he'd probably start a coup within the military. He dreams that they are all on his side.

Is this dude coked up?
Remember a few years ago during the Obama admin when one congress member proposed all lawmakers go under monthly randomized drug testing? Most of the Democrats were for it, the Republicans said no. 2 years ago, a GOP lawmaker named Higgins brought it up again and was shot down. His reasoning was that congress should be tested once per term (I'm guessing he meant session term) to make sure lawmakers abide by the same rule society must endure and that people are of sound mind and body.

A thorough drug test would show more than narcotics. Which is why people were against it. If you're taking drugs for depression, mental health issues, brain health, etc. it'll show up.
