Seriously though, if her name is on the title too, I wouldn't be reporting the car as stolen. Chances are that it would backfire and get you nailed for filing a false police report. If you bought it locally, you might be able to get a replacement key at the dealer, especially if you purchased it new from them. If not, you know any good repo men?
 
anyone who would behave as such will also find a reason in their mind to justify it as well.

take whatever legal means necessary to get rid of her once and for all.

theres still 1 1/2 yrs left on the contract, cant cancel it
she cashed it on the spot, can't cancel the check
i would love to sell the car but i would get pwned even more because she is also on the title

she came over to get the last of her stuff.

i stayed nearby while she was getting it, but i didn't watch her like a hawk because i didn't think it would be a problem. The breakup was pretty amicable

Actually, if her name was on the check but you took her name off of the account already, she should not have been able to cash...If that's true, the bank owes you money!

you were stupid to get joint stuff without being married, but thats in the past. can't do anything about that now.

cancel the phone, eat the early cancellation fee
close the joint bank account, and open a new one with just you on it. destroy all the old checks.
sell the car. if there's any profit from it, subtract what was taken from the account, and give her half.

do this all quickly before you get screwed further.

yep. you have to move into protect mode and FAST. Like if there are any other joint stuff cancel it RIGHT NOW. Your credit in in jeopardy.

Had this happen to a few friends with joint stuff, before the break up the girls ran up like 20K on joint accounts and then removed their name from the account.

dudes are stuck with 20K in debt.
