the ex gf today left me with her cell phone. We're on a family plan and its under my name, so I have to pay for this extra stupid phone.

i'm also the primary owner of her car. I told her earlier that she needs to get it refinanced to get my name off, and in the meantime if she misses any payments I will come take it. She took my key today when I wasn't looking.

She then took one of my checks (her name is still on it, waiting for the new ones to arrive), and writes it to herself for cash so i now have about $20 in my account

its funny how someone you thought you knew so well can change on you in a heartbeat

Report the car as stolen. Tell her you'll drop the charges under the condition that she repays you. Tell her if he gets her own cell phone you'll consider giving the car back. 🙂

her name is also on the registration/title, but i am considered the "primary owner"

Yet another reason why it is dumb to put a gf or bf, depending on your case, on all of your finances. Let this be a lesson to other ATOTer's.

Don't think he can do anything. He said he's the primary owner of the car, instead of saying he was the owner. If her names on it, he might not be able to report it stolen as she also owns it.

Regarding the checking account, well... If her name is still on the account (not just the check), then its her money too.

Regarding the family plan, if you're the name on it, I'd transfer the number over to another phone so she can't like leave the phone on all night and shaft you on the overage charges.
