I'd like to know *exactly* how big the expansion is. The requirements just say that I need 4.6 GB of free space! I mean, WTF?! That's the size of Oblivion!

So...could someone tell me how large it is? Thanks in advance!

The expansion has a new guilds , loads of extra content and a mission on some knight corruption issue i think.

Better story based content? Does it add any good dialogue, Oblivion was extremely light on dialogue in general.

It comes on one CD and most of the plug ins are relatively small. I think the largest is the new KotN mission and it is under 200 MB.

You can look on obliviondownloads.com and get a synopsis of each module. The retail pack is basically a compilation of all of them. Some of them are better suiited to specific character types (e.g. thief vs. mage).

Agreed, that is why I lost interest in it so quickly.

i believe you need 4.6GB because you also need Oblivion installed to play the X-paack. ;)

and i heard it takes 3 hours. :p
[probably hurrying thru]

... but for "only" $9.99 it would take me that long to D/L the new Oblivion patch :p

[i doubt it'll get cheaper until the next Xpack]

ANYWAY, if you want "dialogue" try G3 [a better game, imo, than Oblivion (which i loved)] or NWN2

For $10, I'd get it. I might get it for $20 CAD here, but from raiding the eldercrolls forums, it seems like the average length is 5 hours. Tack on all the other mods, then maybe it's worth it. However, I have heard that the KotN quest is amazing. If you bought HL2 Episode 1, no reason to not get this. Oh, and I'm forever going to have second thoughs paying $20 for a 5 hour 'episode'...

Psh...: Length

Okay, I just found that it really *is* 155MB. But it comes in a CD (or DVD, not sure) with 5 folders of the plugin (English and four other languages)...

So you're really paying $19.99 for a 155MB plugin...

For shame, Bethesda, for shame...

It came out already on the 21st. But it is available for download at the site for $9.99 on Dec 4th. Main difference = retail has all the plugins

Wow, some of the pics for this expansion look nice. Those new monsters/people who want to kill you look cool. They look less plastic than most of the character models.

how is it?

a decent quest?
[i just started it then put it away for G3 ... and my interest in the 9 wasn't piqued ... although, admittedly, after 1,250 hours with Oblivion, i am kinda burned out on it]
:Q

i am almost done with Gothic 3 and will go back to Oblivion ...

after DM M&M :p

Yes sir.

Nice, so the one you download from Bethesda for $10 has KotN and all the previous plug-ins, good deal.

are you sure?
last i looked the D/L was $9.99 for the standalone '9' ... the plugins were still priced individually ... the regular price of Knights of the Nine at Best Buy was $19.99 and i had to do a PM with CC to get it for $9.99 as CC still didn't have it.

http://obliviondownloads.com/StoreCatalog_ProductList.aspx?SubCategoryId=1

i looked ... it's $9.99 JUST for the Kts of the 9 :p

plugins are NOT included EXCEPT on the cd. ... it would be nearly $24 to D/L everything from the Official site ... that's why i bought the CD even though i already d/l'ed all the plugins except Spell Tomes. ;)

My bad, I thought you were talking about the retail. That one has all the plugins. The one from Bethesda only has Knights.
