There is an issue where the game is too easy, I'll admit that. I've played 100% by myself, and the challenge outside of the one story mission I did (the only accessible one in the beta) were just dumb tactics (getting myself cornered in the open). The A.I. could really use an upgrade, because it's a lot of single-file, one-on-one fights when there's a group. They just take turns getting destroyed with a little cover fire from the rest. They don't group up and flank you ever. That, and the generic enemies (non-boss ones) are REALLY generic. It seems like they're all the same character model, but maybe this is a beta-only thing? I suppose it could also change later in the game, when you move to the harder zones. I just don't know how there could be any challenge in the game while playing with other people. I'm not sure if dungeon/raid content will exist, or if we'll encounter fights with difficult tactics, we'll see.
However, the core parts of the game are fantastic. Shooting feels awesome. The environment is very nice-looking. What's more, it's almost entirely a seamless experience, as opposed to smaller areas and a boatload of loading screens with Destiny. The RPG elements in the beta don't seem all that deep, but hint that the full game opens it up a bit more later. Difficulty and varied content, probably the biggest parts of an MMO, are my only real concerns. I'd like a challenge, and I haven't really found it beyond playing a mission on Hard by myself where the difficulty came from number of waves of enemies who were pushovers, not advanced mechanics.
The other part, content, I can't say much about. The side missions are insanely easy and lack variety. It's basically hit a button, run somewhere, shoot 3 underpowered enemies, hit a button. Again, the final game might be much more varied, we'll see. We also don't know how much content there will actually be, or what the maximum player level will be. In just two sessions in the game, I made it to level 7 or 8. If 50 is the max level, it might only take 2 weeks to hit that, and unless this follows a typical MMORPG style and has a bunch of difficult, complex end-game content, I'm not sure what to expect.
I'm not going to dwell on the unknown, though. The game looks and feels great. I enjoy it, though I really want others to play with. After being really disappointment in the Destiny beta, and finding Neverwinter an absolute bore thus far, I'm hopeful we might have an MMO-like experience that's actually fun.
