Did anyone else join the beta for this? I'm playing now, after playing the alpha for a little bit. I forgot how nice the gunplay feels in this. I'm going to be useless to others this weekend, I think.

I played the beta for two hours last night. Jumping into a friends game was easy but load time took a while. Didn't see many problems online play..

The game is pretty deep with the RPG feel.. The gun play reminds me of Gears of War and Mass effect. I wish the it was more like a FPS though.

What do you think of it? I just don't like how you had to preorder to play. I know some people did that with Amazon and got a code but then ubisoft website didn't give them their code to download the beta.

I'm watching someone play the beta on YouTube. I also have a friend that got it for ps4 so I'm trying to see if I would like it and how much depth it will have. Looks like something I would enjoy if there is good content.

Do you have an XB1? I can't remember. I actually have an extra beta code, if you want to try it out. I was in the alpha, so they let me into the beta. I didn't know this would happen, so I pre-ordered to get in as well, meaning I have a spare. It would have to go through the process of having Ubisoft send it, but I have the pre-order claim code.

Yes I have both systems. If you don't need it I could try it but who knows when they would send me the claimed code. Does it end Sunday night?

I would love to play this game but my rig can't handle it and the graphic look stunning on PS4 anyway. I hope the game live up to it hype. I know Tom Clancy games don't really disappointed but it still part of Ubi-soft division so that worry me.

I did the preorder on Amazon for both PS4 and PC and got two codes. Promptly cancelled the preorders are playing a for a few hours.

I wonder if I can still do that and try it out. My guess is I would get the amazon code but ubi maybe is not taking any new codes. How long did amazon take to send you it?

I believe it ends Monday morning, meaning once Sunday ends. I obviously have no use for it, I'll send it in a PM on here with the instructions.

Yeah I was pretty excited for this game until I saw the footage of them shooting a "Boss" with hundreds of bullets.

There is an issue where the game is too easy, I'll admit that. I've played 100% by myself, and the challenge outside of the one story mission I did (the only accessible one in the beta) were just dumb tactics (getting myself cornered in the open). The A.I. could really use an upgrade, because it's a lot of single-file, one-on-one fights when there's a group. They just take turns getting destroyed with a little cover fire from the rest. They don't group up and flank you ever. That, and the generic enemies (non-boss ones) are REALLY generic. It seems like they're all the same character model, but maybe this is a beta-only thing? I suppose it could also change later in the game, when you move to the harder zones. I just don't know how there could be any challenge in the game while playing with other people. I'm not sure if dungeon/raid content will exist, or if we'll encounter fights with difficult tactics, we'll see.

However, the core parts of the game are fantastic. Shooting feels awesome. The environment is very nice-looking. What's more, it's almost entirely a seamless experience, as opposed to smaller areas and a boatload of loading screens with Destiny. The RPG elements in the beta don't seem all that deep, but hint that the full game opens it up a bit more later. Difficulty and varied content, probably the biggest parts of an MMO, are my only real concerns. I'd like a challenge, and I haven't really found it beyond playing a mission on Hard by myself where the difficulty came from number of waves of enemies who were pushovers, not advanced mechanics.

The other part, content, I can't say much about. The side missions are insanely easy and lack variety. It's basically hit a button, run somewhere, shoot 3 underpowered enemies, hit a button. Again, the final game might be much more varied, we'll see. We also don't know how much content there will actually be, or what the maximum player level will be. In just two sessions in the game, I made it to level 7 or 8. If 50 is the max level, it might only take 2 weeks to hit that, and unless this follows a typical MMORPG style and has a bunch of difficult, complex end-game content, I'm not sure what to expect.

I'm not going to dwell on the unknown, though. The game looks and feels great. I enjoy it, though I really want others to play with. After being really disappointment in the Destiny beta, and finding Neverwinter an absolute bore thus far, I'm hopeful we might have an MMO-like experience that's actually fun.

I've signed up for the beta so I'm waiting for them to email me the code to download the client for ps4. Hopefully I can get it over night to try it out before it ends.

It would be cool if they could extend it since a lot of people haven't received their codes either.

I got my code when I pre-ordered awhile back and entered it into the Ubisoft site. Ubi sent me a link to download in advance of the beta.

Yea I got a code and activated it through the ubisoft account and got an email I'm guaranteed access to the beta a few hours ago. It says I'll get another email with a code when the beta is live.

Nothing under the beta section of my uplay. I guess it will either show up or not. No big deal I'll just rent it from redbox when its out to see if I like it.

OK I played a little more last night and this game feels kind of thin to me.. When roaming around with 2-3 people you run into groups of enemy here and there but there doesn't seem to be much else to it.. I felt like I was running around a lot wasting time getting to a location..
I went into the Dark Zone also where the PVP is and seemed the same except you run into other player and I think they put AI in there as well.

Not sure if I will buy this game at full price. I might wait for a price drop..

I did a pre-order at BB, so I'll get it for $48 with GCU and $10 back in rewards. I won't mind if it disappoints some at that price. I might go try the Dark Zone a bit today. I stopped playing the beta because I don't want to spoil the game too much when I actually get it. It might be redundant, maybe even shallow, we'll see. However, given that this is supposed to be an MMO, it's hard to say what style they're going to take right now. Traditional MMOs give you a long leveling experience that's very easy and boring and redundant before you get to the max level and start doing dungeons and raids. This could be the same, but nothing I've read indicates that.

Thanks for the beta code. I played all the available story missions so far. Went to the dark zone once and did an extraction. But I noticed even players I ran into that were not rogue killed me when I was trying to help them out.

Seems fun and if there is more dark zone content once the game is out I will most likely enjoy it. I will also get it at best buy with the gcu discount.

I played the beta, and honestly I was not that impressed with it. They have two main selling points for the game:

1. It's an online RPG
2. The Dark Zone (PVP)

1. This is great for the feeling of progression and the whole "loot" aspect of it, but I feel it will start to become pretty stale quickly. One of the things I personally love about RPG games is that feeling of progression in both your character and your adversaries; you start out killing rats and pigs and eventually take down dragons and giant demons with clubs and, if we're talking online RPG's, raids against crazy looking bosses with other people. That is what an online RPG represents to me. In this game, its going to be 2-3 normal quality guys with guns and when you're max level it's going to be...more guys of higher quality with better guns? There's no scale of your accomplishment; it's just the same enemies with more health that deal more damage.

2. I think they are expecting the PVP portion to carry the game as the end-game content. I love to PVP, but again the whole thing felt stale to me. It's basically PVE unless someone accidentally damages someone else too much, which then causes EVERYONE to murder you practically instantly, or someone actually decides to go rogue, which they'll probably do only when they have no PVP loot on them so they don't risk losing it, so there's no benefit in killing them either except to not be killed yourself. I don't really know how to improve on the PVP aspect of it; it just wasn't right for me.

On the technical side; it looked great and played great. The shooting felt really responsive and the different guns provided the appropriate feedback, and the seamless world was impressive.

Given the other games coming out this year, I'll be passing at least initially.

I love the idea of losing loot... that's what made UO so much fun back in the day before people cried about it.

I bought this way back when it came out and played for a whopping 30 minutes before I got tired of it. I've been wanting a change from Destiny for a bit, and picked this back up. Finally hit level 30 last night and got my Gear Score (GS) up to 163. I just bumped the setting to allow for harder enemies and better gear, so tonight I'll play a bit and see what happens. It's fun. Frustrating sometimes, but fun. Game really gets fun at 30. Time to try the Dark Zone and see how badly I get owned.
