What's a liberal republican. Rockefeller died in office a long time ago.

Correction: He was not in office when he died. (referring to Nelson of course)

With a smile on his face in the bed of his mistress, apparently. And more power to him.

Clearly he wasn't talking about Rockefeller and I bet you knew that. My guess is that he meant Republicans more in possession of their mental faculties than Trump is. I can easily understand how maddening it is to have Trump as President but if part of the problem is that many voted simply out of the pleasure of sticking it to Democrats, maybe we should stop with the condescension and do our part to mend fences. There can be no doubt in my mind at all that the liberal ideas you espouse are and were always intended to make life better generally and thus better for them. So you have always really had their best interests at heart so follow through with it.

More right wing talking points. Liberals are mean and you want to them to treat the right as children. We got it.

I wish you did get it, but I'm here to help you. Hell, you're mean to liberals, or try to be and your emotional reactions make you absurd. Please though, tell me how it is that what I said is a conservative talking point and how is what I suggest our reaction to conservatives be to treat them like children. My point is that liberal arrogance and over intellectualizing, a coupled with a lack of capacity to understand the greater range of moral values held by conservatives leads to Democrats losing elections. And because you are in fact an arrogant butt head, you don't want to see it. Not that I've humbled your mighty intellect and called you a worthless piece of shit, are you ready to join me, or are you going to collapse into a conservative temper tantrum and cry victim. Just saying.......

90% of what conservatives view as arrogance and over intellectualizing is nothing more than someone correcting a false statement or post.

Not very long ago I felt just as you do, when I realized that Republicans were going to elect Trump and the Democrats would vote for Clinton. I was in the mood to watch Trump destroy the lot of you, but I saw what a worthless shit I was to wish my contempt on other people. So when you say that 90% of liberal vitriol against conservatives isn't caused by arrogance, fear, and contempt I would simply have to be blind to agree. Not only is this forum full of conservative contempt, I am full of it too and so are you. Only seeing what is allows a person to step off the karmic wheel. Conservatives believe that liberals will destroy the country. We need to talk about that without all the recriminations that come from ego. Only you can do it for you.

Probably a lack of brain power, but I don't understand this.

Like you've said many times, working class, white, brown, black, yellow whatever, saw economics continue to *degenerate*, even under Democratic rule.

I think the economy does better under democrats, but that isn't the issue that matters to me. What continued to degenerate was the gap between the wealth of the classes. The rich are getting a huge share of the wealth and the worker still faces stagnant wages and economic uncertainty. The reason, in my opinion, is because wealth determines who gets to run in both parties, with Trump a possible exception without a difference. He says he's open to regulating the banks. I'll believe it when I see it. He will say anything based on the last cosmic ray that penetrated his cranium and cause an electron to tickle a neuron.

Except that's not true overall, particularly the "democratic rule" thing. There are 3 co-equal branches of govt, remember?

Not to mention the huge delta between conservative belief about the economy and reality itself. My favorite graph about the election- it's like battered spouse syndrome-

Facts didn't matter this election.

Of course we are contemptuous. That is the natural reaction to decades of conservatives spewing misinformation non-stop. You and I both know that no matter how cordially we attempt to engage in order to educate it doesn't matter. You spent a year here at least pointing this behavior out yourself.

Political facts nor conjecture put food on the table. The people work harder and see less liberty. When Pennsylvania shuns big blue, a change needs to come.

The FACT is that most of that employment isn't worth !@#$. It is simply not good enough. Those people are desperate for something, someone to rescue them even if you don't see it.

Have you tried love, real love, not the kind that wants payback in kind? What blame is owed to people who sleep, who have been programmed to stab themselves in the back? We are just collateral damage. Think how fucked they are and stop kicking them in the teeth. You will know who you are by how you treat the least among us. All I can do is swallow and try to remember. I am not perfect by any means and do not want to make you feel bad about what you feel.

The assumption that fact do matter is part of the liberal brain defect and about which I am trying to warn you. The fact is that conservatives are their own worst enemies. They are that way because of rage. So what do you accomplish by merely telling an enraged person they are fucking himself other than wanting to include you. I think you need to present the facts in a non confrontational way and work to restore a sense of self empowerment that confers self worth. We need to take our democracy back, and that it has been stolen by the rich needs to be made as clear as possible. If we do not engage in a class war the rich will win and then they will lose everything they won because there will be nothing but endless violence and revenge.

I notice that Apple is posturing a concern by spending a billion for US research etc. New organs of perception self manifest with need, and people are hungry for something.

Facts do matter to the fact-based. I am pretty sure the US GOP cut ties with that segment of the population around 1981, and the more recent 21st century exchange about the "reality-based community" cemented it.

Fact (heh) is, the Democrats have been the lesser of two evils, and that's the best we can say for them, since Nixon. They sold their soul when McGovern lost.

Of course I have. I never want payback. The only thing I don't want is to be kicked in the teeth by these people. Way too much to ask.

Yes, too much to ask. I told you the way out is on the cross, a psychological fact known to real religion and not dependent on it. You blame sleep walkers for bumping into you. What did Jesus say to those who killed him? Was it, God fuck them for fucking me? The situation is hopeless and all you can do is man up. The darkness is dispelled by light so shine as best you can.

Yeah well I ain't Jesus Christ and I'm not exactly a fan of God either.

Well you need to start acting like it or the right might just continue being stupid assholes. Then when you are the second coming of Christ and they are still acting the same way, well then you aren't being Christ like enough. But whatever you do, don't lower yourself to their standard because people like moonbeam who are keenly aware of the rights behavior might just point out your less than Christ like behavior and he just might give his support for the right just to spite you.

So to summarize:

Pay no attention to the right when they actively support the killing of lefties (see posters like werepossum as an example)

Pay no attention to right leaning politicians whose policies (sometimes self admitted) are designed to disenfranchise, hurt (economically, emotionally, or physically)

Stay calm and only use facts and sugar (history show how well this works/s) when trying to sell your policies

Only support left leaning candidates who the right and the extreme left support, anything less means you support the establishment and it means your politician is corrupt/bought

Be nice and treat the right and extreme left with kid gloves, being sure to stroke their egos before telling them why their policies aren't good

And last but not least, don't expect those that disagree with you to ever, ever, change or do any introspection, or sacrifice, all of that must come from you

And, uhh, you have data to back that up? And not good enough compared to... what? To the economic devastation Repubs left in the wake of the Ownership Society?

Considering where we were 8 years ago & total Repub obstruction in the meanwhile we're actually doing decently well.

Trump is just going to keep getting elected until the Democrats and the liberal Republicans get it - America first! Fuck the globalists. :)

The sad thing is that there are people that really believe that Trump puts America first.
