Hey, I
would run through hellfire to get with Cottilard, but it just did not fit with Wayne's character and his motivations in the film at that point.

We talked about this specifically after the movie as feeling particularly unearned, but maybe we both missed something along the way. I do plan on re-watching this at some point and hopefully many of my issues, including this one, will be resolved.

Per the CIA agent, they had Scientist + 1 henchman on the flight manifest. Thus, either bane or his brother (the two hooded henchmen) needed to die to meet the one henchman body count. They also expected the Scientist, which is why they brought in another body and pumped the Scientists' blood into the dead body (at least that was my interpretation, thus matching DNA)

Ok, I totally forgot about body they brought on board but now that you brought it up, I do remember that scene. I have to say, for me, it was a confusing scene. Thanks for explaining.

iono what was up with Bane, but his voice sounded different almost every time...higher pitched, lower pitched, medium, I was confused what was going on there.

I noticed that as well - sometimes it sounded quite different even in the same scene. I can only conclude that is the result of their having re-dubbed portions of it after audiences complained they couldn't understand it.

I didn't piece everything together until the second viewing. I was also very confused because there were so many goddamn actors (like the guy who delivered the henchmen + scientist = the sniper/right hand man who carries the big bullets on his vest)

Hardy said he modelled his voice after some crazy-ass Irish Gypsy bare-knuckle fighter from way back who apparently had all kinds of wild inflections in his accent. Couple that with the mask and it does indeed become a bit muddled.

you've just lost everything and a nice piece throws herself at you, and you say no?

Problem was it's not something Batman (even in these movies Bat's love life took second place to being bat) would normally do, so it felt forced.

From Batman Beyond
Bruce Wayne: When I was young, women used to throw themselves at my feet all the time.
Terry McGinnis: What did you do?
Bruce Wayne: Step over them.
Terry McGinnis: Smooth.
Bruce Wayne: I thought so.

when Catwoman comes out of the bar after dropping off the senator, the cops roll out the back alley. A bunch of them get popped by a sniper, which is the the guy who drops off the henchmen.

He is constantly standing next to bane with a vest carrying large bullets (ie stadium scene, wall st. final battle scene)

I don't know, maybe Tom Hardy should have just invoked his persona from Bronson for Bane. That would have kept me enthralled for 3 hours.

True,

But maybe some theaters adjusted their audio to compensate for the distortions, while others did not.

I've never seen such widespread complaining about audio in a movie in my life. Have you?

I saw it yesterday in NYC, and was very discouraged by Bain's voice.

I saw it in a normal AMC and no one I was with had any issues with his voice, including my girlfriend whom I swear is deaf most of the time. The only people I heard having issues, that I know personally all went to the same theater.

Skel, the "love" shit in all three movies was un-Batman. I was so happy when they ended Maggie(I just don't like her I think she's ugly and overrated), I was hoping they'd stay away in this one even with Catwoman.

me + the GF had issues hearing Bane at an official WB screening room. Not like we had bad seats either, center seating both times. I guess WB has shitty screening rooms? lol

The worst part was in the sewers when Bane was talking to Batman (after catwoman dropped Batman off), or when Bane dropped Batman off in the hole.

My point was there wasn't a superawesome deep hidden meaning behind the issues that some people experienced with Bane's voice. If it was then it's some really crappy filmmaking, as everyone should have had issues not just some, and wtf is the point in trying to make your audience go "WTF he just say?"

Agreed, but it was even worse when we went from "I'm Batman, and I only have my mission.. but I do have my one true childhood love" to "I'm Batman and I'll jump everyone that I get the chance to."

Yeah, that was a remarkable performance, and I also thought he was great in Warrior. He is definitely one of the most talented young actors around.

I don't get that jump at all.

I get "fuck, I can't get over this chick. I thought she loved me but it turns out she loved Dent. Fuck, my life is over, everything I knew was wrong, what do I do now?"

...and then Tate jumped in during his moment of weakness.

just my interpretation.

From Batman Beyond

I don't know, in the current comic series, Bruce is getting it on with some floozy. (until she was stabbed at Penguin's casino that is...)

Seriously, why is everyone still posting with /Spoiler tags. The title says Spoiler in it, so if someone wanders in here and gets pissed, then fuck them!

All of us in here have seen the movie, no since in blackening all the text.

I agree with you but I was involved in the Prometheus thread and I felt pressure by everyone to use spoiler tags even 10 pages in. I hate the fact that we have to keep using them. I think someone should either make two threads - one with and one without spoilers OR allow spoilers to exist in an "official" movie thread, once the opening weekend is over.

Really? I dropped all DC when the reboot happened. Bat wasn't a virgin in the series but he never juggled women at the same time, that I can recall.. and it's not really fair to compare the books to the movie as those had a lot more space to create the relationships than a 2+ hour movie.. besides they had to keep putting in those "Powerful moving scenes" that dragged the movie down, didn't leave much time for his dating life.

Was there a woman in the movie he didn't alude to wanting to bone? I'm honestly asking right now, as the only two women in the movie I remember are Talia and Catwoman...
