Ouch, hopefully the family sued Lamborgini for this. What a sad way to die.
Why? Chances are it was another dumbass driving too fast in their expensive car. Interesting that U.S. regulations don't have anything to say about that though

Is it me or does it look like that one firefighter is checking out that chick? Was she a passenger, or maybe a witness? Either way, if he was hitting on her that's not really the time or place....."So baby, how about after this we hop in my car with regular doors and go for a drink."!

Ford really should bring the latest Falcon to the States.

I'm marking this for later viewing. I will say that I was in a car that flipped onto its top at speed some years ago (by a miracle no one was hurt), and that they're not easy to get out of even with normal doors. We could only get one door open, and that by kicking it open.

Lamborghini has been making scissor door cars since the early seventies. Im sure these types of accidents have happened before.

LOLOL

[edit]As EyeMWing said... [/edit]: If you flip your car or get into a nasty crash in a 'regular' vehicle the doors (can) become jammed as well.

That's often why rescue personel use the "Jaws of Life". In fact, they've used this as a scare tactic (in my life) for teaching about the dangers of Drunk Driving, they use how the car was so badly damaged they had to use the Jaws of Life to get the bodies out, etc.

well, not quite true...

he would have survived with these lambo doors

Well ya, but i heard the optional piece that allow the doors to be pushed up or function like a regular door is pretty expesive. Most people will prob. just buy the ones that only push up.

nope that's the Murcielago's smaller brother Gallardo, which has regular door and sells for $100k less. so he could have saved a lot of money and his life...

btw his plate says bohemia, so i guess it's not in germany.

ahhh.
Anyways there reports theses doors are suppose to open like a regular car door in the event of a rollover or something. Maybe true... or nott.

Those doors really do exist, you can get them for most any car, Ive seen them sell for around 1200 dollars.

Frankly, you're not going to have much success opening ANY car door if you're on the roof. This is because the roofline will deform, and the door will either become jammed in place, or the friction with the ground will be too great to overcome. I've got a firefighter cousin, and I asked him about it, and he said he'd never seen a rollover where ANY of the doors opened successfully, including his own rollover. Usually the windows broke out and provided enough room for escape. Chances are, the driver was unconscious, or just couldn't escape the restraints (a risk with any vehicle).

Yeah we had to crawl out through the window when I flipped my Jimmy, and the roof barely caved in. I think the door would have opened, but the way it hits the ground when you're upside down doesn't make it very possible.

Congratulations. You've graduated from being simply stupid to one of the biggest pieces of sh1t to walk the earth.

Why are you not banned?

DAMN! Got myself worked up before looking as usual! I was expecting a decapitation or the loss of a limb from the door! Can't win 'em all I suppose

Damn You, OP! I wasn't expecting images like that. NSFW means BOOBIES!

Die in a f...<errr...wait....nevermind>

(now why did it take almost 100 posts for someone to throw that out there???)

I have images similar to this from an electrical fire a few years ago. A utility guy was on the pole and went through a hot wire. The result was that his clothes were mostly burned off of him and his skin (sorry if this offends) looked like a well-grilled hot dog. Pretty gruesome.

Yep... the doors didn't matter at all; the driver was doomed.
