Uhhh, I dont think Lamborghini had anything to do with the crash. That's like I saying I should sue Toyota or Honda or something if my car flips on the side and I can't open the door outward.

I disagree. No car door can be opened if the car is sitting on its side. The scissor door is particularly dangerous in this very situation, and this can't be the first Lambo to land with the rubber side up.

This happened in the czech republic... the car burst into flames after a high end crash, so odds are that the doors had nothing to do with it.

It does make you think, though. As I said, I've never really thought about the risks of scissor doors before, but they clearly exist.

look at the pic where the girl sat (passanger side) - the window is completly clear, so if she was conscious at the time, she'd have no problems climbing out.

well, not quite true...

he would have survived with these lambo doors

Well ya, but i heard the optional piece that allow the doors to be pushed up or function like a regular door is pretty expesive. Most people will prob. just buy the ones that only push up.

nope that's the Murcielago's smaller brother Gallardo, which has regular door and sells for $100k less. so he could have saved a lot of money and his life...

btw his plate says bohemia, so i guess it's not in germany.

ahhh.
Anyways there reports theses doors are suppose to open like a regular car door in the event of a rollover or something. Maybe true... or nott.

More like the dangers of high speed than the type of door. Flipping that car is damn near impossible without excessively high speed.

Well at least they didn't kill any other ppl on the road.
If the owner intend to drive that fast, he should invest in a rollcage.

edit: but seriously, thats somethink i hadnt really thought of. can any confirm that the doors should swing out in the case of an incident like this? i mean just in case something happens in the slr and the door on that thing is heavy.

Reminds me of this guy

i figure it's well known that lambos have a crappy rep for build quality but damn he's trying to tie this sort of accident to a manufacturing defect in the suspension/wheels.

Anyone know the story behind the crash? Who's the woman on the side of the road?

Ouch, hopefully the family sued Lamborgini for this. What a sad way to die.

Yeah, hopefully.

I get the distinct smell of BS when I read that website. It reminds me of what we used to call the "JRA" syndrome when I worked at a bike store: "I was just riding along and my fork broke in half!" I simply don't believe that his Lambo threw him into the woods with no warning, for no apparent reason. He can whine all he wants about the screws used to attach his heads to his engine, but they didn't make his car crash, nor did the hoses that the previous owner's mechanic allegedly failed to tighten.

It sounds to me like he simply doesn't remember what happened (he was apparently in a coma for some time), and he is assuming Lamborghini, not he, is responsible.
