What it sounds like is that the paperwork will eventually land on someone's desk and a warrant will be issued to you for missing court.
Not joking.
Document EVERYTHING. Be able to prove your court date and that you were where you were supposed to be. Call the DA's office and the arresting officer or his supervisor and remind them that you were at court on the day you were supposed to be and where were they? Why was nothing scheduled.
Don't bury your head in the sand.
In the mean time, stockpile your cash. You'll need it.
Some jurisdictions provide case information online. Search for your name there.
Also get in touch with the DMV, not specifically about DUI just get your driving record to see if it is there.

Contact your attorney, you did get an attorney right? Some states might have rules (or case law) governing the failure of police to properly forward the citation or case in timely manner (i.e. before your court date) and the ticket or charge could be dismissed if not.

it takes a while before traffic stuff shows up, anywhere from a few weeks to months here in california. ive never gotten something serious like dui but whenever ive checked on traffic tickets at the court house before getting something in the mail they cant find anything

For ANY offense other than felonies, and even then, the state doesn't get an unlimited amount of time to arraign a suspect after arrest.

Actually if he blew and his BAC was over the limit, there isn't much he can do unless he has connections.

Local politician, now a state rep, should have been charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, public drink, etc, etc.....Instead, they had a closed hearing where he pled to reckless driving. The special "judge" for the hearing, a 2nd rate assistant solicitor, was later voted in by the state reps as a state circuit court judge. And who was one of several leading the campaign for the judge appointment? Our local guy. That shit pisses me off to no end.
What state are you in? Here in Ca. you get to go to jail until you bail out or are released on O.R. after an arraignment at which time you are given a court date. Your license is confiscated on the spot too. Nowhere I know of just lets you out the back door of the jail with a ticket. What state did you say your in?

Check that the info on the ticket and other paperwork you received is correct. Spelling of name, address, drivers license number, etc. If that checks out contact the arresting officer and see what he says. He may have gotten busy and forgot to turn in the paperwork or it got misplaced in transit. He would be my first stop to see what happened. For a speeding ticket they would chuck it out if the ticket wasn't turned in by the court date. For a DUI not so much, but that will depend on the jurisdiction. Here you can't get a DUI tossed out. The DA has to write a letter and fill out a lengthy packet that is sent to the state for any DUI that is dismissed. They have tried really hard to cut out the buddy system with DUI's.
Stay on top of it as the chances of it slipping through the cracks are extremely slim. If you have access to an online warrant system or court system check it daily. The chances of an order for arrest being issued for missing court are pretty high.
