Not buying any right now. Heck, under the current life conditions I already have three vehicles hardly being used because of the shelter-in-place and WFH situation. But I was disappointed to see BMW, et al wasn't offering any good deals while their sales plummeted. I may like BMW a lot but I am not one to pander to a-holes. But the idea of getting my wife a dark blue metallic Stingray so I could live life vicariously through her was tempting.

BTW, I still find it amusing that a $60K Chevrolet product still does not come with basic GPS (option is >$1K). Too funny.

Android Auto / Carplay has made integrated GPS irrelevant IMO.

I know the LT2 isn't a sexy engine to a lot of people, but it works so well in C8 with the DCT.

Well that's because they're ignorant. :D

The LT2 is dead sexy IMO. Very compact for displacement, lightweight, good low-end grunt, modern tech to make it efficient (VVT, DI, etc.), cheaper parts (compared to the more complicated designs out there), etc. I think GM made a very wise decision to stick with the OHV design for the base Vette. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do with the flat-plane crank engine rumored to appear in one of their higher models but I still love the LT2.

Long (42 minutes) but really great BTS on the C8 manufacturing process:

After seeing the Car & Driver hot lap time for the Z06. It seem that the ZR1 will become the world beater car with the mid engine design.

They had a lot of problems for years which perhaps have died down because you don't hear much about them anymore. They have always been incredibly overpriced though. A good example is right in that article. They want $35k to install a supercharger kit + warranty and you can get all that and more from other reputable tuners for about $25k.

It was just a few years ago the Stingray was going for $120K with markups. Now that supply has caught up with demand (and then some) I'm seeing some really good deals.

We're in the 6th year of this generation. How are people feeling about the C8, particularly the Stingray?

They are popping up in my area like crazy lately! They look like the awesome Hot Wheels we had as kids, love 'em lol:

Did anyone else watch Hagertys latest video? Randy Pobst sets a new production-car lap record at Sonoma Raceway as Jason Cammisa explains how it all happened.

This is a battle between the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (ZTK), the Ford Mustang GTD, and the previous Lap Battle champion, the 992.1-chassis Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

Hagerty always does a great job but this one is OFF the charts! The production value is insane. The script, cinematography, sound, presentation by Jason, and SFX are incredible!

Anyway, if you got 25ish minutes to spend it is definitely worth the watch.

Sonoma is such a good course. Would love to drive it one day.

Will watch.

Also, don't know quite what it is but the C8 styling is just meh overall for me. I don't think it looks 'bad' by any means, but I'd much rather the longer front engine format w a vette. I just think it looks better w less angles and overly aggressive styling. Same for the new NSX, which was already MR layout yes, but the hard angles and body lines are kinda cringe.

Great video from Hagerty!

C8 with active aero like the G3 & GTD have would have been a even bigger monster on the track.

GT3 RS with its rating of 518HP is total BS. It's gotta be dyno'ing +50HP more at a minimum.

Stock 8 second production car.

Been to that track a couple times 25+ years ago when I lived in Michigan. Ran 13s in a manual '99 Camaro SS.
