Good Episode. I tell ya, those challenges are insane...

I wished that the older gent with the 4.8 kids would have won though. He seemed like a good fellow instead of that bitch he fought. There was no reason to bring up Ishi in the "press conference" before the fight... of course, Ishi could have handled himself a little better as well. STEP UP YOU DMX LOOKALIKE! 😀

Naw he was right. Ishe needs to man up. Which he does this sunday. Sunday's fight is gonna be KILLAR!

I don't know if I want the arrogant Ahmed to win or the ignorant Ishe.

This show is too similar to the Ultimate Fighter show on SPIKE tv, i think the ultimate fighter is better tho

Oh man, the ratings are so low on Contender, they are trying to end it quick. It was supposed to run weekly, the day of the week the first episode was on. But the ratings were so miserable, they shifted it and inserted it on Thursday after Apprentice in hopes that would save Contender. I guess, Sunday is the last-ditch attempt.

PS. Major factor why The Contender's not getting high ratings - No hot females w/ big boobs hanging out of low cut tops and mini skirts, or barely any clothes at all.

Link. I heard they had that idea before the show just to make sure the ratings stayed up. But the apprentice people might like The contender too. I don't think it was a last ditch effort. I could be wrong though.

Don't have the link. Heard it from the guy in the industry on Howard Stern's show the next morning after Contender's premiere. That guy is a regular guest - an insider; they always discuss ratings and what's going on with particular shows. He even gave exact figure: 5.smth, an extremely low rating for the network. The Supernanny and whatever else goes on at the same time beat the crap out of it. Hence the switch.

the great thing about this show is, you can just tune it at 45 after the hour and watch just the fight part if you don't like all the "drama".

it's pretty good. some good personalities and some good fighters.

Why do you think he was paid off? Just because he was 21-0? Sugar Ray was 100% right at the beginning, it's all about heart in the boxing ring. All those guys are in the same weight class, so they dont have any *much* of a specific advantage over one another other than experience and maybe a couple pounds. Gomez was hitting HARD. Peter didnt get paid off, specially in front of his little girl. He just thought it was gonna be an easy fight and wound up sorely mistaken.

I do wish they'd show the tale of the tape though, instead of just letting us know what the guys weigh in at. It'd be interesting to see who's got the longer reach in each bout, and show what their records are against one another in a quick easy to view format.

I've never been a fan of 'challenges' in these shows, they all seem rather hokey. That one was pretty brutal though, I sure as heck would have collapsed running up that hill lugging those logs. :Q

The Peter guy wasn't talking trash. I thought he was going to KILL the other guy as he has a 21-0 record and 3rd in the World.

He didn't box that great. Well he won 2 rounds imo but the other guy really did well. He had the 1st, 3rd and 5thh.

The big difference is that it is only 6 round fight. Normal boxing fight it is 12 rounds so you can 'grind' away at your opponent and not 'rush' it so much. BUT still the other guys calibre SHOULD have won him the fight.

The other guy took it to him and beat hm 🙂. He got in some solid hits in the 1st round and I think this unsettled Peter too much. Remember once you have been hit first and a few hard ones your reations are f0cked.

I'm glad The Contender is on tv and the UFC reality tv show 🙂

Ishe Kicked his arse. Honestly, before the episode I wanted Ishe to get knocked out of the show for being a big wuss the show before... He gained a lot of respect by apoligizing to his teammates. Then Ahmed was just being a complete a$$hole, the whole show, he fought so cheaply as well... trying to throw Ishe, basically sucker punching him by not following the rules... He deserved to lose.

I thought this was really funny, mostly because after the fight she looked like she was about to leave him right away, she was 'joking' about how he "better not lose because [her] dad didnt want [her] marrying a loser," and didnt even go see him after the fight:

Boxing (punching above the belt with padded gloves) is hardly a sport. I bet they could get even more rating if the "boxers" had to fight Lions and other wild animals. Boxing is the most crooked "sport" scam going. Always has been always will be.

Yep, Ahmed is out. The site probably just hasnt been updated yet... unless it's a spoiler for next week. Apparently, they'll be voting someone back onto the show because someone else is leaving for reasons unrelated to boxing.

Why do you care what people like to watch? Boxing only became crooked because of the managers. They're trying to turn it back into the respected sport of yesteryear. You obviously dont know anything at all about boxing either. So I dont know why I'm still typing. It's a tremendous sport.
