The Contender

Yeah that sucks I really wanted the other guy to win. I'm just waiting for the episode that features the guy who committed suicide a few weeks after he went home.

While I'm not one of the people that taped to watch it later, I suggest that you edit your topic and put the word SPOILERS in there. Noobtastic.

Being involved with film and video editing myself, I know those final fights can be edited in a way to make it more dramatic, one sided, etc etc. I saw many times when they'd reuse the same 2 second clip from different angles to make the fight go on and the hits even cooler.

But regardless, that show is incredibley good. Bout time we had some good sunday TV.

Yeah, I knew they'd make it super dramatic, but hell they did a damn good job of it. I'll be watching the whole series if they keep this up.

Boxing++;

Yeah it was MUCH better than I thought. I was like not another Mark Brunette production. But I encourage anyone who watches boxing to watch this show.

Even if you dont like boxing, I think it'd be good to watch. I felt so bad for the loser, seriously... it was pretty emotional. 🙁 Then I was torn because I felt happy for the winner! quality production values there baby.

That was a really good show. I was impressed since I'm not really a fan of reality TV. But it had everything reality TV has, plus drama and boxing. I couldn't believe that I was watching boxing in primetime. Pretty sweet.

Who thinks that this whole suicide thing will increase ratings? There's no such thing as bad publicity.

Awesome awesome awesome awesome show. Best reality show I've ever seen. I was jumping up and down for Alfonso for like 30 seconds straight at the end there.

I officially call all Mark Burnett produced shows "Fixed." Peter got paid under the table to lose. Boooooooo

Good show though. Didn't think I was gonna watch it, but nothing else's on. Was it Peter who forgot the lock combination at the top of the hill too?

No that was the pretty boy. Do you have any evidence that peter got paid off?

The dude that was telling the black guy he's talking so stfu and he sucks? Drama queen.

Paid off's just my IMO and speculation.

Why do you think he was paid off? Just because he was 21-0? Sugar Ray was 100% right at the beginning, it's all about heart in the boxing ring. All those guys are in the same weight class, so they dont have any *much* of a specific advantage over one another other than experience and maybe a couple pounds. Gomez was hitting HARD. Peter didnt get paid off, specially in front of his little girl. He just thought it was gonna be an easy fight and wound up sorely mistaken.

I do wish they'd show the tale of the tape though, instead of just letting us know what the guys weigh in at. It'd be interesting to see who's got the longer reach in each bout, and show what their records are against one another in a quick easy to view format.

I've never been a fan of 'challenges' in these shows, they all seem rather hokey. That one was pretty brutal though, I sure as heck would have collapsed running up that hill lugging those logs. :Q

I repeat, I'll be watching this one.

Dayyyum, just watched the first episode. A-FVCKING-MAZING.

I was curious cuz I liked Rocky, and I really like how they edited the last fight with slow-mo punches.

During the fight, I found myself standing, yellin, and puttin my hands up, screamin "PUNCH, JAB!!! NO BLOCK!"
Music makes it more dramitic to.

Finally, a good Reality TV SHOW!

10/10
