The common misspelling of the word "through": thru

Why do so many people spell it as "thru?" It's ridiculous! It's everywhere! It's even in schools! STOP THE MADNESS!

I've been using thru and lo and a few others for years in forums for no other reason than convenience. Funny thing is I've never seen a spelling nazi correct them. I guess now they're too late. 😀

I'm with you!

More insanity to stop...
Axe instead of "ask"
Pacific instead of "specific"
Bout instead of "about"
Excape instead of "escape"
Conversate instead of "converse"

People who use the above incorrect words are simply lazy minded individuals.

Your all using english so wrong, its suprising. My curiousity is peaked by the bad grammer that everyone has here. Wrong grammer here, wrong grammer their, its everywhere. You guys shouldn't be such loosers and learn how to spell. The bad grammer is going to effect how people perceive you're posts on the forums. Do not be so rediculous I've had enuf of the sloppy grammer.

You spelled percieve rong...😛

What difference does it matter unless you're writing a book or something, communication is just that. Interpret and understand what they are telling you and move along. If you can't understand "thru" then there is no hope for you in this language, try another one.

What about "of" instead of "have"? That's a particular favorite of mine.

it's not a misspelling, it's an abbreviation made on purpose.
I've already seen "tho" as well instead of though.
I think they're fine because it's language evolving and cleaning out the medieval spellings left over from french administration or whatever, and I don't need to read them twice to get the meaning. It's like a new way of writing in a more phonetical way, there's no ambiguity with other words. 'Nuff is another example.

The misspellings that make me go mad are those that make the text difficult to read, e.g.
effect vs. affect
have vs. of
lose vs. loose

These are caused by utter stupidity, not evolution.
