He won in 2020 in part because of reaction against Trump's horrible handling of Covid. He also did not have the baggage of an incumbent that he has now, i.e. 2 wars, high prices, border crisis. He is also 4 years older, and will be 8+ years older by the end of the next presidential term.
Trump is aging just as fast as Joe, arguably faster. Who would voters figure is a safer bet 4 years from now?

The loose canon Trump, who shoots from the hip and doesn't care about the consequences? His administration was a revolving door, people in, people out. There was no such thing as a reliable appointee in Trump's cabinet.

Or level headed Joe who manages to get things done regardless of how tough things are?

Trump had a chance in 2016 because a lot of people were curious about the novelty he presented. That's gone now.

For those who don't want to click links:

I am right and it is indisputable.

For the record, ondma is the guy who blamed Biden for Minnesota's legislature spending its budget surplus, and for his own grandson's inability to buy a house. So of course it's Biden's fault that we're fighting "2 wars" and for surging crime.

Yea, Trump is only slightly younger than Biden, but he seems much more vigorous. He has one advantage, in that if he says something stupid, it just seems like his normal ranting, not necessarily that he is losing it.

Yeah, that much is indisputably true - Trump benefits greatly from the fact that he's starting at such a low baseline of mental functioning that it's going to be difficult to detect the effects of dementia.

Bit like the Dorothy Parker quote, when she was told that Calvin Coolidge was dead - "How can they tell?".

Just look at the polls. You may not believe them, but Trump is neck to neck or even leading in some of them. The scary part is that traditionally Trump has done better than the polls suggested. The problem for the Dems is that most of the younger potential candidates are toward the liberal end of the Dem spectrum and may not appeal to independents and more traditional voters. The world is in pretty much of a mess right now. Prices are rising more slowly, but still high in food, housing, transportation and medical care. The war in Ukraine has ground to a stalemate, and now Israel/Hamas are going at it. The border is a disaster and crime is still high. These situations may not be Biden's fault, but it is easy to blame them on the incumbent, and Biden's appearance of feebleness and horrible public speaking abilities dont help to refute them.
Explain to everyone how either war is Biden’s fault?

I didn't say either was his fault; it doesn't even matter. It still looks bad that they are happening on his watch. Obviously, I don't have any insider political information regarding whether he could have prevented either. One could argue that taking a harder line against Iran might have had some effect to decrease their support of terrorism. In any case, Ukraine is draining resources, both financial and military supplies, and he is getting a lot of political backlash from more liberal wings of the Dem party for his support of Israel. In fact Muslim American leaders from six battleground states have vowed to mobilize their communities against Biden because of Biden's support of Israel.

And we still have this ginormous infinite light year's leap of logic to contend with whereby Trump is, by way of a stupendously accurate train of logic, one of if not the most unelectable unqualified 4 times indicted candidate that ever conned his way into being the one guy that the electoral college and the Russians needed to be in power. Yet there still exists millions of dumbed down conservative Americans thinking he's a brilliant gift from a racist God that will help them create a despotic Trump dynasty that will cut more taxes (for the wealthy) and finish building Their Great Wall that will prevent all of those non-white "undocumented murdering child rapists coming over from south of the border".

None of that matters.

All that matters to them is that the guy who called half of the country "vermin" is now the leading candidate to become the next President.

Again, remember - "he's not hurting the right people." That's all you need to know.

And all you need to know about how bad it could get.

Citations needed.
For the thousandth time, Bernie Sanders will never be POTUS.
America is already dealing with massive antisemitism from the right-wing (disingenuously disguised as anti-globalism). So much so that leading right-wing figures are celebrated by mainstream GOP for retweeting the equivalent of "Jews will not replace us."
Meanwhile, anti-socialist sentiment from the right-wing is so extreme that even our country's founding principle, the proposition that all persons are created equal in the eyes of the law, is routinely denounced as socialism.
And yet, somehow starry-eyed dreamers still believe a socialist Jew will be elected POTUS in this environment.
Many progressives continue to fail to understand that progress is incremental by definition. And that every time well-meaning progressives try to move us forward too quickly, they end up setting us back that much further.

I'd like to see that fat fuck get on a bike, or even walk with any vigor. He's nothing more than a bloated blowhard. And his cultists eat up everything he says as truth. Fuck him, fuck his supporters and fuck the media for not calling him out harder.

I love how he genuinely thinks that exercise uses up your body’s finite supply of energy like he’s Spawn or something.

We had an Iran nuclear deal that according to the IAEA was working. Guess who ended it?
