My cats are a ton of fun...the best entertainment. One is food driven and will eat anything, i can't leave food out or he will break into it. The fact that he is amazingly handsome makes up for it a little. Especially when i find him looking sweet like this....

I've succeeded in getting my cat to lose weight. She was a stray that I found on the street and pretty badly malnourished when I first got her. Unfortunately she continues to eat like a cat that never knows where her next meal will come from so during her first few months she put on a little too much extra weight. I've cut back the amount of food she gets and her weight is dropping, but now she likes to nibble on my leg when I wake up in the morning to let me know that she demands to be fed.

My obese one (have two cats, a brother and sister, female is the fatty) has gotten so fat that she is having issues pooing in the litter box as her sheer mass is a challenge to get into the box and turned around. She she'll walk in, try to turn around to stick her head out but find it to difficult so give up and poo with her ass hanging out of the box right onto the cheap rug I put there to catch litter that comes out.

It really sucks having to deal with that on a regular basis but it's about once a week or so it happens. I just pick up the poo with some paper towels and thrown the run into the washer machine.

Used to be kind of funny and cute how fat she is but now it's become an ever increasing pain.

She's so fat that when she pees and poos her fat folds get in the way and cannot help but trickle down her back side and mat up. She's so fat she can't reach 80% of her body to clean herself.

So now the routine is latex gloves and baby wipes on her backside on a daily basis. It's the weirdest shit though when we clean her back there. She goes into the crazy mode and starts nawing with a crazed look on her paws and licking them like she's trying to get to the bone. Such a weird ass cat, she always has been since the moment we got her.

Before anyone thinks otherwise, we've brought her to the vet a number of times, have had blood work as recent as 2 weeks ago and control her food intake. She is just sloth like lazy. She will lay in one spot for 8 hours without moving.

Her brother is the total opposite. He's hyper and in perfect weight and actually eats a good bit more than she does. Its just the extreme activity differences and there's nothing we've been able to do to correct it. It really sucks actually, I feel really bad for her and wish there was a way to get her to drop the weight.

But without moving, she'll never lose it. Even as a kitten she'd just sit and stay in one spot.

Our orange tabby was found in our niece's boyfriend's dairy barn apparently the victim of someone dumping her there which happens a lot on farms. My niece took her home to live with her two Bengals which terrorized her. The poor cat could never get a moments rest and, for whatever reason, they declawed her front paws so she couldn't even defend herself. Her left eye is scratched pretty bad. We finally took her where she now lives by herself and it took a good 6 months for her to calm down. She essentially lived on top of our fridge for a good part of it. I'm not the biggest cat person and I wanted to get a dog when we moved here but I don't want to inflict a puppy on her so we'll wait.

it would suck to deal with her poo problems every day. perhaps you should look into another litter box arrangement? I have two very big cats (not obese) and we use this litter box

http://www.amazon.com/PETCO-Mega-Rec...2778748&sr=8-7

it should def. give your cat enough room to turn around and feel comfortable while going potty.

as for getting her to move, have you tried toys like da bird or a laser pen?

I think you broke into my house and took pictures of one of my cats. My cat looks pretty much identical.

Thats what I do for a living. I break into houses and take pictures of their cats. It doesnt pay much though.

Does your cat have a big fluffy tail that has a kink near the tip?

I took a closer look at the picture and my cat last night, and my cat seems to be your cats evil (or good) twin. The white streak on his nose, and the white streak on his side are both on the opposite side compared to your cat.

Yes. we've tried many cat toys, lasers, etc. Her brother will goes nuts trying to get anything and she might every once in awhile lift her paw to try and touch it.

cats are awesome

my cat is very picky about water. first she used to drink out of the normal cat food bowl but then decided toilet bowl water is better. But one time she was in a bathroom where I have a tub and a spout coming out of a platform on the side, and when I turned on the water she jumped up on the platform as starting licking the stream of water coming down.

ever since then she wakes me up early in the morning like 6 am and then leads me to this bathroom and meows until I turn the water on so she can drink from the spout again. havent seen her on the toilet bowl since.

I brought home a 7 month old kittie from the SPCA yesterday :D

Bought her this bed, she really seemed to like it!

Then today I find her here:

Really? Sigh, why did I take the tag off the bed already!?!

Anyway, she is a sweetheart. She has been pretty timid and lethargic so far, but she has eaten some food and has warmed up to me quite a bit. She has no desire to play with anything, and I'm hoping that's just because she was spayed on the 27th. I've had cats before, but they were always spayed well before we brought them home.

I adopted these two beautiful boys from a local shelter on March 28th.

So far they are both a little skittish but they are quickly warming up to me. The flame point is Cosmos and the lilac point is Comet.

Our cat, Trillian, likes to hang out on my shoulders and jump up on the stationary ceiling fan to hang out on the blades. Trillian is getting a bit too big for it now, so now I get attacked with her jumping onto my chest to attack the drawstrings on my hoodie.

Does she have soft paws on? How is your experience with them?
