Well, what to say or comment on this. :mask:

"Imagine calling someone a Nazi for waving the Union Jack."

Not interested in watching far-right propaganda videos. Can you say what your point is in your own words?

That demo featured plenty of Nazis. I note you didn't post the video of the demonstrator audibly calling, on camera, for Starmer to be assassinated. (Of course, Starmer himself would no doubt declare they had 'legitimate concerns', as pandering to the far-right is his 'thing').

I haven't followed this thread, but UK has copied the Muricans and exploded public debt since the Great Recession.

I'm finding how this story has developed to be really odd:

My understanding of events:

1 - asylum seeker comes to UK, gets put in one of the 'asylum hotels'.
2 - guy then sexually assaults two women and gets sentenced
3 - apparently thanks to bureaucratic screwup, he gets mistakenly freed
4 - manhunt ensues, he gets caught and deported

How does an asylum seeker who has been sentenced for a serious criminal offence not get deported straight away? I'm thinking that this is purposeful immigration theatre to placate the right wing.

New research indicates Brexit has cost the UK 6-8% in GDP, investment of 12-18% and 3-4% in employment.

Arguably the largest self inflicted economic catastrophe by a developed nation. Remember, all of this damage came as the result of a campaign of brazen lies in support of a nonbinding referendum conceived in an airport pizza place that barely squeaked by.

All this suffering and they could have just…chosen not to.

Unfortunately while we would hope that it all served as a warning to other countries (a public service announcement by the BBC World Service!?), it really looks like many country wants to repeat these mistakes so they can experience them firsthand!

The USA electorate certainly did not pay attention, and Trump'ocomics may very well manage to out-do any Brexit damage. (Currently mostly masked by huge AI spending.)

I wonder if the penny is ever going to drop when these right wing "second generation immigrants" realise that when Nigel Farage et al were going on about "Hitler was right" and their general anti-immigrant rhetoric, that it's aimed just as much nth generation non-white immigrants as every other non-white person in the UK.

Also, imagine a political debate between Labour, the Lib Dems, the Conservative party and Reform coming towards the next election:

Farage is WORSE, he is ally of Putin and won't be surprised if he allies with the US and Russia into the taking of the artic, the issue? unlike the US, his move might end destroying the UK and: fusing the Ireland's and making Scotts independent .

I don't think that self reflection is their, or their target voters, best skill! Especially since Farrage has been slagging her off personally plus Reforms "selling point" is you can't blame us for all this mess as we are a new party full of shiny new people who aren't responsible for anything! Doesn't work when half the Tory party are now in reform!

wow, it's that bad?

I imagine the problem is similar for most countries that have seen hiked energy and oil prices? It costs more to heat and power the place comfortably, and it costs more to get goods to the place. It's far cheaper to stay at home and drink beer.

It also wouldn't be surprising to me in the slightest if the breweries (which own most of the pubs in the UK) hiked their prices because if everyone else is doing it, they're not going to get singled out.

The Brits have what may be the most corrupt leaders ever. Have always been convinced that Starmer was installed as PM more by Israeli manipulations than the British ppl. Corbyn was brought down by exactly such machinations.

Mandelson was also giving vital insider info that could impact world markets to the likes of Epstein who was profiting from it.
