I'm finding how this story has developed to be really odd:
Hadush Kebatu was arrested in north London, two days after being mistakenly released from an Essex jail.

My understanding of events:
1 - asylum seeker comes to UK, gets put in one of the 'asylum hotels'.
2 - guy then sexually assaults two women and gets sentenced
3 - apparently thanks to bureaucratic screwup, he gets mistakenly freed
4 - manhunt ensues, he gets caught and deported
How does an asylum seeker who has been sentenced for a serious criminal offence not get deported straight away? I'm thinking that this is purposeful immigration theatre to placate the right wing.
