Great start to Sunak's campaign - make the election announcement standing outside while getting soaked to the skin in a torrential downpour.

A Tory 'wet'?

This man's brain is already kicking back in his Santa Monica penthouse drinking a margarita.

Inflation numbers alone is not gonna pull a 20% rabbit up the hat… What else he got in there that could pull it off?

War?

I think that he doesn't give a shit anymore. He'll just piss off with his billions to comfort him leaving behind the smoking ruins of the Tory party.

Mkay. Its just not in-character for power people… Unless you’re talking straight up stress/depression. But lets hope.

Not sure if linking to the middle of the blog works, so here's a screenshot. Sounds as if a last gasp of chaos and farce could potentially be on the way.

He's already gone to the king and desolved parliament. No backsies now!

If Sunak is forced to resign, how many leaders will the conservatives have gone through during their time in power? 😀

Almost enough for a Joker "six?" reference 🙂

Sadly (and I am almost disappointed - objectively I guess an election is preferable, but a 'palace coup' would have allowed Larry to add one more PM to his already-impressive wikipedia entry, allowing him to overtake the previous record-holder*) it appears the rebellion fizzled out.

*Peter, who served from 1929 to 1946

So apparently there is a Minister for common sense in the UK government. She and a few others want to oust Sunak as Tory party leader, call for a vote of no confidence against Sunak as PM, install a new Tory leader/PM and call off the July 4 election. All before the King officially dissolves the parliament next Friday.

This is not a joke.

edit: the title is apparently unofficial

Well one of her signature efforts is to eliminate rainbow colored lanyards for government staff, you know in the name of "common sense".

TLDR, she is a fucking loon.

Also quite ruthless in maximising her income

They seem to be going all-in on pandering to angry pensioners. I guess they are aware that the over-70s are now the only group who vote for them.

Also this

“This is about dealing with what we know to be the case, which is social fragmentation. Too many young people live in a bubble within their own communities. They don’t mix with people of different religions, they don’t mix with different viewpoints.”

...sits awkwardly with the way they are simultaneously defending the private school system - which is all about keeping the children of the rich "in a bubble with their own communities"

PS, found a photo of the only person who approves of this policy (and I don't mean Warren Mitchell)
