So this doesn't prove anything. Are we running up unprecedented deficits as a result of illegals? are towns, cities, and municipalities in financial trouble as a result of illegals? Are illegals the cause of all of our economic problems of today? Are we really that bad off because of 12 million illegals in this country? how much more a year am I paying in taxes in order to provide illegals with healthcare and food stamps? I am curious to see how the figures factors into the overall costs of our social programs, ie, what percentage of the pie is the illegals compared to your run-of-the-mill poor American family. I guess that is another thread though..Originally posted by: Fingolfin269

did you ever stop and considering how much money will go to roughly 13 million people in terms of healthcare and public schooling? that's a lot.....
Yeah, cause they don't pay taxes and stuff. Or actually, the vast majority do...
As a group they don't pay in proportion to the government services they consume. When you consider healthcare/welfare/education/prison inmantes as a group they have an overall net negative affect on the US economy. Everyone is suffering so a few can profit off of cheap labor.
Prove it.

Wake up.
I don't see anything in either thread or article proving that Hispanics don't pay taxes. And I'm not talking about just sales or gas taxes, either.
You told him to prove whether or not they have a negative total impact on the economy and he did so. You didn't ask for proof of whether or not they pay taxes.
My point is this.
We have seen this before, amnesty was the solution then, and I am sure there was quite an uproar over amnesty back then as there is now. But the alternatives just aren't feasible. No one is going to build a wall on our borders, no governor is going to want to pay the national guard anymore then they already have to in order to increase border patrols. You cannot flood our prison systems with illegals (again more $$) and you cannot, "ship them all back to where they belong." That would require waaaaaaayy more of a logistical nightmare than anyone cares to admit. People in the United States are protected by due process, meaning, you have to prove they are illegal before you can "ship them back."
It is a cycle that our economy relies upon, we grant amnesty, low wages are boosted, a whole new crop of illegals enter into our economy, the beat goes on...
But INS does this everyday, so I see this as being more expensive on an ongoing basis. So why not tackle it now and get it over with. To me put the money into fighting this problem now.. versus bleeding out our resources yearly fighting it. I dunno just playing devils advocate here.
