The Bible - A collection of stories written over a period of 1500 years by fallible men. Men are fallible, there for the bible is fallible.

The Bible is fallible.

Let's apply these principles to science and its ideas such as Darwinism. I bet you would defend those vehemently.

I don't think anyone ever said the men who have discovered and refined evolutionary theory were infallible, far from it.

They just weren't making shit up as they went.

The Bible is fallible.

You also think thermite was in the WTC.

There was. But where do these two completely unrelated subjects come together, exactly?

Let's take a trip down to the museum where they can show you where they collected the skeletons of man's evolution from volcanic sediment... We'll give you all the time you need to punch holes in the theory.

Darwinism wasn't layed out as indisputable truth, but a series of repeatable observations....

I'll defend repeatable observations vehemently.

Why is it that the anti religion crowd feels the need to openly bash religion? It's really no different than the religious zealots that openly condemn the non-believers.

IMO all the high-horse, uppity anti-religion crowd show insecurity with posts like these...

FWIW i find myself in the middle somewhere.

They wouldn't be so quick to do it if they didn't think they had a good argument to back their opinions. The people you see who randomly start proselytizing don't expect to be argued with. They expect to be agreed with, which is a reasonable expectation considering the fact that most people share the same basic beliefs and the ones that don't will rarely openly contest them. Most of the people who have approached me with biblical quotes and preaching fully expected me nod my head and give them a hallelujah for their trouble, and I usually obliged them.

Posts like these openly invite dissent because they come from a strong argument. They know your position and the tactics you will use to support it and are not swayed by them one bit. It's an entirely different thing IMO.
