i can cook stuff without meat in it, but handling raw meat and bones just makes me gag. i can eat it, just not handle it.

i have been like this since i was 3 and had a dream that i got eaten by my mom and her stomach was full of meat tenderizers and they pulverized me into a disgusting bloody shapeless mass. i still remember it like it was yesterday.

honestly wouldn't mind going vegetarian if meat didn't taste so good.
c != cook
c == chicken

thighs > breast~wing >>>>> leg

I generally prefer white meat, and I tend to default to breast over anything, but thighs are more versatile and better in all sorts of rice dishes and stir fries, jambalya, curries and whatever.

Tossup between wings and thighs, it just depends what I'm in the mood for.

For normal dinners I get chicken quarters and grill thighs and legs and thighs are clear superior.

However on the weekend when I have more time and feel like being adventurous I make wings since there's a bit more work that goes into them, and they are fucking fantastic.

I'm still waiting for my fucking grill cover to arrive tomorrow so I can put my new (and first) Weber to work.

I love cooking quarters. either deep frying the whole quarter or roasting with some sort of rub, like an Israeli cinnamon/nutmeg deal or with za'atar and sesame

yum.

I rip off the leg part, toss it to the cats because legs are awful, and eat the thigh.

I'm not following your logic. Doesn't sound like there were any actual bones in your dreams.

Maybe your mom gives you a boner so meat tenderizers=bones=mom=boner? If that is the case I definitely understand why bones gross you out.

And my favorite piece of chicken is the last one that I grab from the bucket just before the other asshole grabs it.

For generic fried chicken I'll take a breast every time. If someone knows what they are doing then any piece can become a work of art.

Ok, wow.

After the ass-piece (that lille lump) which is *the* best part, but its only a morsel so it dont count, then thighs are the best meat, because red meat (not really but "redder") and general juiciness, but NOT for fried chicken.
Everyone knows, or should know, that legs and then wings are the best parts for fried chicken. Thighs just dont crisp up, breast dries out.

Breast is best for pan roasting, if you really need to fry it, pound it flat first and use it in a burger.

Oven roast, thighs again win.

Normally, I'm not a huge fan of the leg but it's all about how it's used. My favorite chicken dish is the Empress Chicken at the Golden Buddha Chinese restaurant in Decatur, GA, near Emory University. It's butterflied chicken drumsticks fried crisp and covered in this awesome garlic/soy spice sauce. It is ridiculously good. Best I've had anywhere.

Depends. I do a blackened chicken alfredo and pound chicken breasts to tenderize and to cook evenly. I do wings smoked then deep fried, and a deep fried chicken too. Sometimes the boned in breasts are pretty big and I'll sous vide them a bit then finish by battering/breading/whatever and deep frying.

Pretty much this. It's all about how it's cooked and prepared. It's like that with any animal parts. For example, if you ask what's the best part of the pig, many will say the ribs or pork belly. But very few will mention something like pig feet. But I've had braised pig trotters at restaurants that are out of this world good. But I can't prepare it the same way at home so if I'm cooking, pork belly is the best. But if I eat out, I would choose the pig trotters over any other pork.

I'm so happy the majority voted thighs. Thank goodness you aren't idiots.

Pig trotters reign supreme !!

Yeah, jakbol is pretty amazing, will give you that.

For the chicken though, thighs, easily. Flavor flavor flavor. I like to rub them down with something simple and tasty, than bake them inside a muffin pan. All those juices stay right where you want them. Does require more attention in prep/pulling though, as I don't like to serve up little dark pieces of non-meat in my recipes.

Love thighs, care little for wings. Breast has it's role, just needs more help.

Fried chicken breasts are hard to do properly, but there are places that can keep them moist and it's an amazing meal when they do it. I like all of the standard fried chicken parts, so I'll take whatever's around. The breading has to be good though.

But realistically, most chicken shacks will murder the breast.

They fry all the pieces together; breast and thigh have different cooking times. When the thigh is done, the breast is a brick of inedible meat.

I asked for wings and breasts at a restaurant that serves pre-made fried chicken. The owner said that all he had left were thighs, but that they were the best piece from a chicken anyways. Well, then we got into a disagreement over this. I pointed out that the fact that all he had left were thighs is evidence that it is the worst piece of chicken. He retorted that I did not appreciate chicken.

Which do you think is the best?

I like chicken breast best, it’s so versatile & can be prepared so many ways!
