I asked for wings and breasts at a restaurant that serves pre-made fried chicken. The owner said that all he had left were thighs, but that they were the best piece from a chicken anyways. Well, then we got into a disagreement over this. I pointed out that the fact that all he had left were thighs is evidence that it is the worst piece of chicken. He retorted that I did not appreciate chicken.

Which do you think is the best?

owner > you

Well, actually owner > pretty much anyone else on Earth > you

Stick to things you know about, like, ummmmm, Lego heads. Thighs are the best piece of the chicken and the fact that they're left over should be all the proof you need of that. Stupid people far outnumber smart ones, so of course the shittiest pieces go quicker. Smarter people and those who have a palate to appreciate good chicken won't eat at the places you do.

1) Whole wings - fried crispy

2) Breasts broasted - so juicy without the greasiness of thighs.

Sounds like he doesn't either.

Thighs are too greasy. Breasts can be kind of bland. Wings bring both the best meat flavor and the best flavor of whatever coating is on the chicken. Legs are a close second.

thighs are the best part!

1 bone and delicious dark, tasty meat. I only buy chicken or turkey thighs.

I ordered different parts of fried chicken from a well know chain recently for lunch.

1 breast, 1 wing, 1 thigh, and 1 leg. All spicy flavor.

Gotta say breast was the best one IMO. Go to grocery store and check out the prices. Breasts would be the most expensive then wings.

Tossup between wings and thighs, it just depends what I'm in the mood for.

For normal dinners I get chicken quarters and grill thighs and legs and thighs are clear superior.

However on the weekend when I have more time and feel like being adventurous I make wings since there's a bit more work that goes into them, and they are fucking fantastic.

I'm still waiting for my fucking grill cover to arrive tomorrow so I can put my new (and first) Weber to work.

i can cook stuff without meat in it, but handling raw meat and bones just makes me gag. i can eat it, just not handle it.

i have been like this since i was 3 and had a dream that i got eaten by my mom and her stomach was full of meat tenderizers and they pulverized me into a disgusting bloody shapeless mass. i still remember it like it was yesterday.

honestly wouldn't mind going vegetarian if meat didn't taste so good.

Thighs are not necessary the best. It's just that most people can't cook chicken correctly and the thigh is the most forgiving part of a chicken so it's virtually impossible to screw up when cooking it. You can nuke and greatly overcook the thigh and it will still be good. You can't do that with the breast. I'm wings and breast person but understand the appeal of the thigh. I'm usually stuck eating the thigh and the legs when eating the chicken because I usually let others take the breast and wings.
