The best graphics thread

*Play Project Gotham 3 on my TV and you will see it would be one of the best graphic seen in any game

*Farcry Water , island = awesome

*Doom 3 lighting effect is pretty amazing

*Elderscroll 20min gameplay footage trailer pawns any game at HDR + Shader 3.0 and forest are detail are unbeatable.

*COD 2 has pretty good HDR effect in some level

*Metal Gear Solid 4 looks really great but I have my drought about that trailer..

*Gear of War at TGS looked freaken awesome and it was only running on one core and developer did say they were going to use 2nd core before the game is released.

*Geometry war is awesome 🙁) ? just kidding buts it looks great in HD ..



 
Far Cry (cold render style and with HDR parameters toned down) and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory are still the best looking games I have seen so far.
 
Half life's water is pretty breath taking.

Doom3s shadow/lighting system. Cant wait til the doom3 engine incorporates softshadows plus HDR plus photo realistic textures (which made HL2 look so good).

I liked the sun glare effect in Giants Citizen Kabuto, the water on both HL2 and Far Cry and the shadows of D3 😀
 
Half Life 2: Lost Coast.

I've got lots of friends who aren't into computers and question why I have this big glowing alluminum box on my desk. I sit them down for a round of Lost Coast at 1920x1200 and they instantly get it.

Project Gotham Racing 3 looks fantastic. First time I've seen HDR used so extensively in a console game.

Perfect Dark Zero has some neat motion blur effects, nice use of parallax maps, and some neat shader effects.

Black and White 2, if it only plays as well as it looks...

FEAR, at 1680x1050 4xAA, 16xAF, max everything... my mouth and eyes drool.
 
Call of Duty 2, while not havinf D3's shadows-on-everything, is pretty much the best damn looking game out there. The environment lighting effects are awesome, with a soft, totally photorealistic effect in levels like the beach landing one.

I agree, the details and textures in COD2 are amazing. HDR is awesome too.
 
The in game videos of that new tom clancy game look amazing. I would post a link but i have 4% battery life left.
 
I love my X850 Xt.

the best part is, it's just an imporved version of a very successful card (x800).
i think i'm more satisfied with it than i'd be with an x1800, since most people hate it.

and on topic - I'm going with Far Cry on levels that feature a lot of water near the beach. Best combo of scenery and graphics.
