both DD and KK are overpriced shit.

The local walmart and Hyvee make them fresh every morning. They are better then DD or KK at 1/4th the cost.

I've only had Dunkin Donuts a handful of times, but they have always been awful.

I like the warm KK yeast doughnut and they had a couple of filled yeast doughnuts that were good, but for the most part they are only ok. Their cake doughnuts are all terrible though.

Tim Horton's makes an ok cake/old fashioned doughnut, but the majority of their doughnuts are terrible, specifically their yeast doughnuts.

I tried Mister Donut when I was in Japan and they are pretty good for chain doughnuts.

Usually I just go local if I am going to have a doughnut though, there are a few solid shops around town and they just make tastier doughnuts. Probably due to better ingredients and making smaller batches.

Krispy Kreme donuts are the best donuts.

Your affection for them shows us that you have excellent taste and are an asset to the human race.

ftfy for truth. Also, I think some don't understand how and when a Krispy Kreme donut should be properly enjoyed. This leads to confusion.

Sprinkles = wax, nty :thumbsdown:

Dunkin Donuts are actually donuts, Krispy Kreme is inflated sugar balloons that melt into sugar syrup the moment they hit your mouth, nty.

i had a coupon for a free dozen KK glazed donuts last month, which i love. unfortunately, their icing machine was down so they only had all the other KK donuts which i discovered i don't love because they are just too sugary and sweet.

KK does make one of the best plain glazed donuts ever, otherwise, not so much.

Krispy Kreme donuts are horrible.

Your affection for them shows us that you have lousy taste and can't be trusted.
Krispy Kreme are to donuts as Pizza Hut is to pizza. Edible, but crappy quality compared to most real bakeries.

Apple Fritters and chocolate long johns with bavarian cream all day...or so i wish.

In for the KK hate also. Worst donuts ive ever had.

Local Lamar's donuts FTW

Good donuts are not at the chains like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts. D:

Voodoo Doughnut in Portland (Oregon) has a pretty good Bacon Maple Bar.

So far, thee best donut place I've eaten at is a food truck in Austin (Texas) called Gourdough's. Each order is made fresh (so the donut is hot when you get it).

Flying Pig (bacon with maple syrup icing):thumbsup:

The Puddin' (cream cheese icing, vanilla pudding, fresh bananas, and Nilla wafers)... and the Naughty & Nice (rolled in cinnamon & sugar and served with honey butter)

Dunkin Donuts are only "good" when dunking into their decent coffee. KK's coffee is usually bad and their donuts mediocre.

A good local shop >>>>>>>>> Shipley > A bad local shop > ... > DD > KK.

Local place called Rise'n Roll has the best donuts. They have multiple locations, but you can only open a franchise within 75 miles of the headquarters. All donuts are hand made every morning at headquarters and delivered to the locations every morning, so everybody has the exact same experience. Like everything else quality in the area, it's Amish made and they know what they're doing.

Their filled donuts are stuffed to the brim and are so good, but their cinnamon caramel donuts are the star. It looks simple... just a normal donut with what appears to be simple cinnamon sugar on it, but it's so much more. There's a caramel glaze under the sugar, and whatever sugar they use is magical with a consistency I've only seen their. It's like amish crack.

5'7", I think I'm technically supposed to be in the 140's. I was 139 when I came back from Afghaniland but that was humping 100lbs all over dem mountains 7 days a week.

I just like steak and taters too much. Also donuts.

LOL @ 5'7". Be careful you don't get trapped under a donut.

All donuts are good, only thing with sprinkles is that they tend to fall off and get everywhere. I typically go for the non springle ones when someone brings a dozen in the office, but I'll eat whatever's in the box really. Mmmmmmmm donuts.

DD makes better cake donuts and KK makes better glazed. In all cases local shops can have varied results. For me, I have to be in the mood for a donut....which is rare. I had a bad childhood experience after eating a dozen out of stupidity and it's kept me skinny all these years.

The best donuts are in Buena Vista, CO and fried in 100% lard. The second best donuts are in Frankfort, KY and are double glazed death bombs of delight.

Sprinkles were invented by the Nazis and used to torment captured resistance fighters by rendering food inedible, fact.

Haven't even had a donut in awhile, but I never really was a KK fan myself.

Tigertails, Maple Bear Claws, and Berry filled Fritters are my favorites, though other than a Tigertail, they are probably not a donut.

Funny what you run across in a search engine sometimes 🙂

Chocolate sprinkle covered glazed doughnut holes own. I don't like rainbow sprinkles. And I don't want a doughnut that doesn't almost melt in my mouth. Old Fashion's are good at times, but I don't want a heavy cake doughnut 95/100 times

Hot, fresh donuts are the best.
At 6:30 am there are a bunch of places with better donuts than KK
But at an "odd" time like 11:00am or 8pm... KK is often the best donut available...which is often the times I buy donuts :/

But now I'm wanting to stop into my local "donut Nazi" before work, although I normally skip their crazy good donuts for the warm, amazing apple fritters 🙂
