Considering how much FUD Microsoft has spread over the years, they certainly deserve to be on the receiving end.

But I'm not a fanboy of MS or Sony, so I might end up buying either, neither or both.

I would truly hope that the PS3 is faster than the Xbox 360 consider how much later it'll be released.

According to Kutaragi, Microsoft has only improved the graphic performance and increased the output resolution with the Xbox 360 and its multiple core architecture will only "increase the machine's capabilities as an all-purpose computer, but it won't change the type of entertainment."

What an idiotic statement. Change the type of entertainment? What type of entertainment can the PS3 do that an 'all-purpose computer' cannot? Furthermore, from a developer's perspective, nobody wants massive internal architectural change to take place. Relearning how to program for a console effectively every time one comes out is a bitch and a half, not to mention the cost.

That being said I am more exited about ATI's new PC cards then nVidia's. Not sure how that will affect the console market but they do have some things in comon.

I agree, the only ATI card I ever bought was the 9700 pro, everything else Nvidia.
