If you go priest then spec shadow all the way for leveling. It's not the fastest class but the changes make leveling so easy that it shouldn't matter. What matters more is which class you believe you will enjoy playing the most.

Druids are always a good pick because they are a jack of all trades and if you get bored of one style then you are just a respec away from doing something completely different.

Shadow priest is fairly fast and also jokingly easy. It's easy that once I started wanding a mob, I could get up, do something else, come back and the mob would be dead... I'd have full mana and hp.

Nice URL but it seems that's really just combining WoWWiki's Spell Hit and Hit page 😛.

so I'm stuck at a point where i dont know which blues to upgrade to epics first. I am starting to run Kara, gruul and mag consistently with my guild. But I also have badges saved up to buy some items with. However, I dont want to spend badges on a gear slot and then haev that tier piece drop shortly after. Is there anyway to predict which pieces i'll more likely upgrade first in Kara... or how would you go about it?

Just check out the loot tables for bosses. Know which bosses you may get to first and then you can compare the badge gear to this. See which piece will provide the largest upgrade or know which piece of badge gear is simply that good.

Also, you can't forget that stats are king and the gear must provide the stats you want. A piece of badge gear might provide the right stats that you are looking for where a drop from a kara boss isn't doing so.

One advantage to remember though... badge gear isn't luck-based... drops are. If you've got a green in a slot... say your boots... go pick up the tabi boots.

Also consider that a large majority of badge rewards are above T4 quality. Most fall somewhere between T4 and T5 but lean closer to T5. It shouldn't be tough to figure out which ones are better than Kara/Gruul/Mag loot. Just do a little browsing on wowDB or wowhead.

However, I can tell you that the stuff you can get from Prince will most likely beat any of the badge loot with exception of maybe the T4 helm. Check to see which helm is better.

Isn't he a rogue? One thing to look into is which pieces of T4 are not filled by badge gear and not better than other accessible gear and use those, because T4 2-set bonus adds duration to your slice and dice.

tech is a priest, just message me in game again and ill help you ont, ill be on later tonight when i get home from work

Oh yeah... a bit out of it today =\. I'd have to look at the gear since my priest hasn't been Shadow since level 63.

Speaking of my priest, I was a bit disappointed last night when I brought my warrior+priest combo up to fight the Netherstorm rare elite chimaera thing and it was bugged :|. I guarantee I could've killed that wuss. I think I might try to solo-party Grulloc. That sounds like fun. I might try to grab him when he's near the Alliance town though so I can avoid any possible adds. I don't need help but doing it with just two of us takes time and well... long time = respawns 😛.

EDIT:

Oh wait, you're healing... haha. My bad, Let me whip up some advice 🙂.

if you are a tailor making the Primal Mooncloth set will let you buypass those 3 slot items untill T5 or later, i cant remember if you are one or not

I can't either, but you can pick up Whitemend as well which is good for pure healing. I'd recommend also picking up a stam set as you get further on (and from what we've talked about in this thread), you will need healing gear with stamina on it and the tailoring sets provide pitiful amounts. So if you are using the PMC set and WM, I recommend also trying to go for "worse" pieces of gear that provide at least 10 stamina more. I would say not to waste your time on less than 10 stamina upgrade. I would also say to look for more when a piece has less than 20-25 stamina as well.

As for boots, you can either get the boots in Kara or get Boots of the Long Road. The pattern will cost you some gold, but they are fairly easy to make.

Here's the rest of the gear you'll want to grab:

Bracers: Bands of Indwelling
Boots: Boots of the Incorrupt (if you do not have BotLR)
Gloves: Gloves of Saintly Blessings
Cloak: Red Riding Hood's Cloak
Neck: Shining Chain of the Afterworld (You can also go for the Emberspur Talisman but it has no stats and could not fill the role of stam gear as well).
Ring 1: Mender's Heart-Ring
Ring 2: Violet Signet eventually becomes Violet Signet of the Grand Restorer
Trinket: Ribbon of Sacrifice

Stamina gear:
Chest: Masquerade Gown
Helm: Headdress of the High Potentate
Pants: Pantaloons of Repentance

I am a tailor but I dont have 2kgp to make the PMC set 🙁

I cant compare it right now but is that cloth hat better than the badge reward healing one?

Oh btw, this got released recently about 2.4:

Items
- All 25-man bosses drop 2 badges now. (src)
- You can now purchase Nether Vortex with badges (cost: 15 badges + 6 gold), also Primal Nether & Nether Vortex are not soulbound anymore.

So...in regards to any craftable gear from SSC/TK that isn't BoP, it can now be yours if you have enough gold. Not that you couldn't buy Vortexes before like you do with nethers but it should be a hell of a lot easier now. This should influence a lot of people including Techgamer's priest in regards to what gear to craft.

^ that's good news about the vortex. Maybe I can finally get a belt of blasting made. 😉 Time to get my 500g back from the guy who was holding 1 of 2 vortex hostage.

For warrior tanks, how good you need your gears to be to do heroic instances effectively? I hit 70 couple weeks ago and right now I'm planning on getting the "of the Bold" war tank set from normal instances (3/5 pieces so far), then move onto heroics.

Being a casual player, all my groups are PUGs, so that's add some unpredictabilities...

oh my god. I am extremely happy about this. I always run 25man, and rarely run kara or heroics. Now I can finally earn badges (about 10 a week) so I can buy some badge gear as well.

woot woot.

You need 490 Defense Rating minimum and you need a shit ton of stam. Also, since you are relying on PUGs, then you will also need to have a good healer who knows what they are doing or else the spike damage will cause a lot of wipes.

The biggest problem I have ever had with heroics consistently is that people pull agro. Whether that be due to DPS screwing up CC resulting in healer death, DPS pulling agro off the tank, no focus fire on a single target, or a healer pulling agro off a tank because the tank is not generating enough agro it is always the same. If you have a good healer and you play well with good stam and 490 def rating then a lot of wipes can be prevented despite DPS mistakes.....to a degree.

Aren't heroics still more akin to 70 instances? As in for 70 instances you prefer avoidance over stam where in raids, you prefer stamina over avoidance.

EDIT:

No such thing as 70 mans in WoW .

I'm not certain. All I know is that if agro is being maintained properly then your healer will be able to keep the group up much easier if the tank has enough stam to allow some heals to be tossed on the group. If you are a healer where healing the group is simple like a Druid then they will also be pleased with the stam because big spike damage is less of a concern being that the HoTs have more time to do what they do best. I am sure some amount of avoidance is recommended though.

The ZA bear boss drops a really good chest, equivalent to T5. The bear boss is also the first boss and is easily doable by pugs.

Slightly off topic, but the bear boss is actually the 2nd boss contrary to popular belief and choice. According to the few guilds which pull it off regularly, the fastest order to killing the bosses is Eagle->Bear->Dragonhawk->Lynx if you are aiming to get all 4 timed chests.

Although, bear is certainly the easiest and most commonly fought first. Hardly any guilds shoot for all 4 chests anyways let alone being capable of doing it. Mine has only pulled off 3/4

you are correct however if only going for 3 chests Bear -> eagle -> lynx is faster then eagle -> bear -> dragonhawk
