But I quit GW because I played WAY too much.

Agreed. I started with WoW before GW, but I just prefer PvE personally..so GW was better for me since it is mostly instance based. I also like the idea of Heroes and Henchmen on there, cause I like to do most things myself.

I don't play too much..maybe 8-10 hours per week

I love GW. Especially now that we are at a place that the internet doesn't die incessantly.

I got burnt out on Guild Wars after playing since the launch of the first one. Played through the original, Nightfall, and EOTN. Then got Factions for cheap a little while ago and I have just picked it up again going through the campaign. It is a great game, I am pumped for GW2

My first ever MMORPG. I played throught the first one with a warrior and a monk. Started to play factions (made the mistake of using an A) and lost interest. My sister took to the game and has a pretty sweet group of characters and mini pets. I went out and bought all the expansion packs for her and she keeps me updated on when GW2 comes out. I still get on and play every once and a while, but usually only monking in the UW. Been forever since I've done any quests.

Lot of fond memories from that game. My oldest character W/Mo still has his original gladiator armor with Ascalon helm (dyed Silver!). Lawl, took me forever to get the 8k to buy the silver dye. She was playing the other day and black dyes where going for 5k?!?!?! Man, the game has been kind've farmed out. I remember I funded my first set of Droks armor on black dye farming.

Kind've miss the game. The thrill of my first green item. Where's the hot spot to farm at now? Like I said, the only place I farm would be the UW.

I wont be focusing on farming until after I have completed all missions on all expansions..so it will be a while.

items are so much cheaper than they were!

people farm trolls near droks, UW (always for ectos), minotaurs

not sure of what else.. I used to 55 monk near droks on my old account

Been playing for awhile. Been through all the campaigns and dungeons. Right now I'm trying to get my warrior through the Tyrian HM missions. I'm up to the Thunderhead Keep. If someone else in interested in doing these missions my IGN is Orion WhiteFlame. I couldn't do the Dunes bonus so looking for help with that too.

big place to farm is DOA, some new builds for ecto farming in UW and then obsidian shard farming in FOW...with ursan out from eye of north team farming has become really popular.

I got into GW about 3 months ago..ran up about 200 hrs in it and now I'm bored b/c it's all about now just collecting stuff and upgrading my henchmen's skills and helping others along since I play a monk. If you can find people to play with regularly it is pretty fun, but once you complete the campaign the game takes off into a grind type game for vanquishing, elite capturing, etc. I haven't tried pvp b/c i'm not that hardcore. Lately I've just been playing some NWN modules and have taken on Diablo 2 again as well as running through titan quest immortal throne on legendary right now as well.

I've got a couple chars but I don't even have GW installed right now.

If anyone wants to go ecto or shard hunting, I'm one of those lucky bastards who gets crazy good drops all the time (I had black dye drop in the beginning bit of the game once haha)

I'll reinstall if anyone wants to play. I think I'm currently working through the Nightfall/EOTN campaigns with my main char.

I just wish it was easier to get henchmen. I have all the packs but haven't finished prophecy yet, and going solo with the default schmucks pretty much sucks.

you need to get either the Nightfall or EOTN campaigns..you get heroes (like henchmen, but you can controll their weps, skills, and what they do) its a lot more helpful

add me in game and I will help you out.

best way to get through the game and learn?

join a guild...listen and ask for help and contribute the guild...that way you learn a lot and can move along well

if guilds don't work out then always look for a group when doing missions that way you can at least learn from other people rather than by yourself or just henchies

I have all the campaigns but thought you had to travel to the nightfall place to get them added to you?

Link to Quest: Sunspears in Kryta

you go to Lions arch and get that quest from Lionguard Figo

then you can travel to Nightfall campaign..

then go to Sun Docks and you get a quest called Battle Preparations and it unlocks (4) heroes for you. I think Koss (Warrior), Dunkoro(Monk), Melonni (Derv), Talkhora(Monk)

The only reason I even started Guild Wars was because its free.
But the game itself is seriously lacking.
It would be better (for me) if they made it single player and either increased running speed or shrunk the world. I've noticed a lot of so-called RPG's these days increase the game length simply by making the run speed slow. You spend most of your time travelling.

are you kidding?

have you ever played WoW? In WoW unless you have a mount its like 3 days to get from place to place. Map travel in GW is much much better idea than having mounts. If you want to run fast get a Derv and there are crazy skills to get your speed up.

Then get a run-fast skill and use it.
