I've had this game for a while and I just started playing this past week. Doing pretty good now that I figured out how to play.

Is there a way to adjust the zoom sensitivity on your rifle when you're scoped in?

Besides getting a mouse that lets you change the rates on the fly.

No it's eithe 4x for ar or 12x for sniper guns. I wish they would bring that feature into bf3

ah while that would be a cool feature, I meant the sensitivity of your mouse while zoomed in.

In TF2 and CS:S you could change your cl_zoomsensitivity_ratio or something. So when you zoomed in the mouse would lower the sensitivity by the ratio you set.

Back to your thing. I remember being able to set zoom distance in QWTF, so it sucked when there was only one default zoom ratio going into TFC, CS. Would be cool if you could do your own thing for BF3.

Yep sorry, mis-read that. As far as your original quesiton, I'm not really sure.

So without reading the whole thread, can you not use the machine gun while driving the tank? I hit my button that zooms in on a rifle.. and nothing. And for some reason there isnt a invert option, you have to change the settings for pilot. I change it, and cant get it right. I want up to be down, and down to be up. Like it supposed to be. 🙂

A)machine gun is a vehicle option that you can select from your weapons loadout in the far right slot. If you've not gotten far then perhaps its not unlocked yet

B)I thought they patched in a invert option, if not there is a neat tool "bc2 configuarator" that lets you fix these things. Sadly the uav is the same as pilot controls.

Ugh, so I really have to have enough points to use the machine gun in a tank. How annoying.

This is what I found to be the most popular configurator; http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/...-em-clan-certified-bc2-configurator-best.html

Dont see an invert though. You are thinking of another? Thanks for the help btw.

Yes and I was wrong, no invert in that. However if you go to options, settings tab. in the top left there is 'vertical fly' under 'invert controls', that should fix the piloting issue.

The machine gun in the tank is just an unlock, go shoot a bunch of people for a little while and you'll get it soon enough. To be honest I never really use the tanks anyways.

What server is everyone playing on? I've been playing for a while, but never realized there was such a large bc2 following on AT.

Just finding a random server with a good ping. I have been on an Oasis 24/7 server lately though.

Thanks for the help. Im just starting... and getting wasted by people with upgraded weapons and such. But whatever, having fun.

Serious problem:
Half the time I try to play I get unplayable lag. I know when it will happen because when I enter server selection screen, my mouse gets a noticeable lag. When I choose a server and enter game, there is CRAZY lag, like 3 FPS. It stays like this all night - every server. Wait a few days, then everything is fine. Used to happen occasionally, now its like 1/2 the time.
Any idea? Is this an EA server issue or something? I'm currently living in Japan.

Just tried pressing ALT-TAB a bazillion times all over the place - no difference.
The game will show up in browser as say - ping 50 - in game 360 ping, and unplayable. This is happening always now, as opposed to sometimes. Again tonight, I can't play.
My instinct tells me its an EA server issue of somekind and out of my control.

you probably need to open up some ports
try these:
- Port: 80 TCP
- Port: 18121 TCP
- Port: 18126 TCP
- Port: 18126 UDP
- Port: 13505 TCP

Has anyone had an issue with 'zoom' levels changing on the fly? Like I'll red dot in on someone, and then all of a sudden (and its completely random cant replicate it) I'll zoom way out. I have to re-scope to fix it, and while not game-breaking it's damn annoying! I feel like this has happened to me with sniper scopes as well.

it happens when you try to scope in immediately after spawning

the best way to avoid it as a problem is to scope in and out right after spawning just to sort of flush the bug
