Yep that was me. We were getting pummeled before you came, odds started to even out a touch when you showed up. Was still a tough set of matches!

I use to have a ATOT tag on, I don;t know why it disappeared. :hmm:

Always happy to help turn the tide for a fellow ATOTer.

Using the new Auto-login functionality introduced in the last patch for some reason eliminates your clan tag in game. Solution: Don't use auto-logon.

Bummer...I was really enjoying not having to click three times to get into the main menu.

I'm JLee50, if anyone happens to see me. I might start running an ATOT tag to make it easy. :p

Now this is what I'm talking about: http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/bat.../04/battlefield-3-is-coming-preorder-now.aspx

BF3 Fall 2011, baby!!!!

Pre-order, limited edition for $50: http://eastore.ea.com/store/ea/en_U...=TCN@3goBAkcAAEG-DswAAAA6&rests=1296842801157. Oh, man, this is going to be good.

Tempting, but I'd prefer it on Steam. I usually wait 'till games hit the bargain bin before I buy them, but then by the time I play online everyone else has 50 hours in and I get obliterated. :p

Man, I thought people would be more excited about this. Five hours went by for before a single peep!

Yeah, I'm not saying you should actually pre-order this now. Actually, I prefer physical copies to steam, so that's the way I'll be going. But as for waiting for the bargain bin...hell no. This game deserves to be played from day one. As you found out the hard way, jumping in three months later is not the same experience.

Gotta pay to play.

Sounds like you were out of the loop, Termie! People were quite excited about it in this thread...

yup, as with all BF games, you need to get in early and abuse the OP'd weapons before they get nerfed. :D

hahah...I have become what I hate...my last game I pulled better than 2:1 K/D (overall is only .66, so that's way better than usual :p) by being that asshole on the side of the mountain with a GOL and magnum ammo. :D

I like the VSS too..the later guns are so much better than the earlier ones (except the M24, which seems to be ok). I'm definitely enjoying the game more now that I have a lot of stuff unlocked.

M24, SV98, and Gol all do the same damage. The SV has a larger clip (useful if you put a red dot on it for run n gun, good for hardcore cause about everyone has to scope), and the Gol is very accurate.

yeah, I'm trying to enjoy the M40 and Huey before they (if ever) get nerfed :D

SV98 also has the fastest bolt recycle times so you can get your shots off a little bit faster.

It does have some of the most sway when scoped in so its not as good as the GOL for long distance shots, the GOL is the only sniper rifle that is completely rock steady when aiming through the scope, the others all have to be compensated for some varying degrees of sway.

Hey guys,

I've really been enjoying BFBC and I guess I just noticed the other day how crappy my framerate was. 1900x1200 resolution @ medium settings I'm getting less than 25 fps. @ low I'm getting maaaaybe 40 FPS.

I JUST formatted my computer and installed all brand new drivers and it hasn't helped one bit.

Specs:

i7 930 @ 2.80 ghz
6 GB Ram
ATI Radeon HD 5700

I guess I'm just confused because I play CoD and get 70 FPS non-stop.

COD is a much smaller game in terms of environment and uses a much more forgiving engine. Your 5700 is a major weak-link, not too surprised at all you're getting lower frame rates at that resolution.

6GB should be plenty for just about any game for the foreseeable future, and the i7 930 should have plenty of power even at stock, although you could certainly amp up performance in that regard even with a mild overclock.

I don't know about your preferences, but I'd want at least a Radeon 6800 or GTX 460 level card for 1920x1200 @ 60Hz.

A Radeon 5850 is the minimum I use for BC2 on a backup rig that has a monitor that's only 1680x1050.

I am running an i5 750, 4Gb and 5870 all at stock clocks and I am glassy smooth max'd out at 1920x1080. No FSAA, though (runs fine with it until I zoom in on a lot of smoke, then framerate gets too low for me).

It looks like resolution makes a big difference in this game: http://www.anandtech.com/show/3987/...enewing-competition-in-the-midrange-market/14.

Try setting it at 1680x1050. You should be able to run high settings, maybe even with AA.

Bad Company 2 is a very shader heavy game. Unfortunately the 5700 series doesn't really have the power to run at 1900x1200 with good frame rates.

Like others have said, dropping your resolution to 1680x1050 will help substantially.
