Alright, i found a pretty cool tweak while searching for fixes to the lag.

If you go to settings.ini

You'll find "RenderAheadLimit"

Now, this is supposed to help, if for example, like me, my CPU is faster than my GPU. So technically, if your CPU is faster than your GPU, changing RenderAheadLimit from 2 to 0, will give you about 10 FPS. Something cool i thought i would share, worked for me, feel free to leave feedback.

Not like EA can really do anything. I haven't experienced any serious lag in quite awhile. Sure if I join a server in Europe I can have some problems. Most of the time the servers I play on are smooth. There are servers on the East coast you can connect to, and if your still getting lag there then something else is wrong. SOV, SOC, =e=, all those servers run very well for me here in northern GA.

Is oasis the one thats sorta 'strike at karkand'? If so that map rocks, but only on conquest. Rush it's kinda 'blah' imo. The more I play Harvest day the more I like it, you can really rack up some points and kills on that one. Heavy metal I'm not a huge fan of, but it is kinda fun to bomb down the mountains in a vehicle


And I'm sure this has been discussed months ago, but some settings of mine got changed. How can I make it so the turrets/mounted guns, etc turn faster without upping my sensitivity like crazy? Killing me in helicopters as I can't keep up with the turns.

I've actually been wondering this myself. I'm gonna go check out the .ini file now.

Rush on Oasis with evenly matched teams is usually a borefest because the first two sets of mcoms heavily favor the defenders.

I like the new maps, I wish they had more buggies/jeeps to get around on them though.

Wow. That was hugely helpful. I've been changing dpi on-the-fly for vehicles and it works well, but it's a pain in the arse. Looking forward to setting this up properly.

Ps: I also just picked up the specact kit, and I'm kind of disappointed. I thought I would get weapon camo for ALL the guns. Not just one per class! Booo! (Or am I missing something?)

so it only changes the rate at which turrets turn? thats kinda weak, i don't think theres a problem with them as is. is it a noticable change? i just upped the vehicle sensitivity in my game options

I haven't played BC2 that much for a couple months but pre-ordered Vietnam as I'm sure it'll inject some of the freshness the game desperately needs.

Me neither, but I fired the game up a few days ago, and holy crap I sucked.

I mean I sucked before, but this was on a whole another level. I used to at least get a 0.90 k/d ratio, now I'm averaging 0.3-0.4 :'(

I got so used to black ops, that I was playing BC2 completely wrong. I'll be back for vietnam though.

I figured you crashed. Was it a CTD or did the game just freeze? I've had about 4-5 game freezes, ctl-alt-del, kill process since the update.

Fatpat I'm in Texas too and much appreciate name immensely (brings me back to high school). However, I really think the updated maps really breathed life into the game. I've been having a blast. Haven't even considered spending any money on Black Ops.

I have weider driver issues due to the 4850X2 xfire weirdness.

I keep almost replacing it with a 5870 with all the 220 AR deals, but I kinda wanna wait to see what 69xx brings.

i added the DEC xfire profiles and lost FPS. yay.

might do a cleaning/10.10 update later, but thats still prepatch, and I doubt 10.11 does much for it either

Crossfire has just about convinced me to go back to a single card. Mostly because of the driver issues I keep having with it. 10.11's seem to work 'ok' on bc2, I think 10.10's were better. 10.11's may not have installed right for me as changing any 'overdrive' setting results in an instant system lockup. I'm waiting on 10.12's and then see how the new cards roll out before I make a final decision. Things seemed to work so much nicer when I only had 1 card.

Although now windows defender is off some issues have gone away, curiously not affected when I was on cat 10.5's.

5770's, performance seems inconsistent these days. I dunno if something is wrong with my system or this is how it should function. Curiously enough the new maps perform the best, I can quite often see 100fps or greater. I think this is because they don't have the 'blowing' effects.
