Well seeing as you can pick up anyone's kit that they drop, it's possible. I don't know how you haven't noticed that you can pick up kits at all. It seems like a lot of your gripes are just common sense. Getting killed by snipers??? Don't run in the open.

I have noticed but when the kill cam came up he was holding a fucking sniper rifle.

right so getting killed behind or inside buildings or from cover to cover = running out in the open?

Can someone explain why only the attackers in Rush games get vehicles?

Anything over 20 players is ridiculous. The game is just complete chaos to begin with and adding that many people is just a joke.

Oh and tonight I was killed by a sniper with a 40mm grenade and some sort of machine gun. not sure how that's possible.

I think i might just finish the SP campaign and uninstall. I just can't learn how to play this. I honestly cannot figure it out.

Never play BF2 32v32 and have everyone going for the Hotel Flag in Karkland

Could be had picked up the assault kit, killed you, then picked his sniper kit back up right away. The kill cam doesn't show him shooting you, like instant-replay (as it did in MW1 I think), it shows what he's doing while you're waiting to respawn, real-time.

Also I've noticed that when you pick up a kit, it doesn't change your skin (meaning, you spawn as Recon and pick up an Assault kit, you'll still be wearing the ghillie suit even though you're shooting an XMB or whatever).

i guess that has to be it.

I've done the stuff you guys mention and it doesn't do me any good. If I try to move between buildings I get mowed down inside the building, knifed in the back, tanked, or 40mm naded. sometimes I even get sniped inside a building. I regularly get killed in 1 shot with the m24 while on the move. all these guys are just that good with the m24 or are aimbotting.

If I try to move between cover outside I get sniped, tanked, mowed down, or 40mm naded. I tend to do better on lower player limit servers, probably just because there aren't as many people trying to kill me.

I swear I spend more time waiting to spawn than I do playing the game. I've got some more unlocks now but every gun still feels like i'm shooting a bb gun and it seems to do the exact same amount of damage.

I pump several short bursts into a guy and he may or may not die. Someone shoots 2 bullets at me and I die.

I just don't understand how to play this game or what I'm doing wrong.

pontifex, have you tried playing with a higher FOV? it's not going to help you to aim better but at least you'll see more and it should feel less hectic because of the higher FOV.

also, the M60 is the ultimate unlock. if you can't kill with that, then perhaps BC2 just isn't the game for you.

Were you a straight-A student or something? An over achiever?

You're not really doing any worse than anybody else! Your K/D ratio is over 1, isn't it?

It just SEEMS to you like you're doing worse. You're like the anorexic that looks in the mirror and sees a fat person... 😀

Lighten up. Just take your time, try to immerse yourself, and enjoy it. Maybe try chillin on a 16 player server. Much less chaotic.

how do you use motion mines? i keep throwing them, getting motion mine assist...and my squad friends keep saying they see people on the map, but i never see anybody! it's like it works for everyone else but me.

Ya, I notice that too sometimes, but with spotting. I'll here my characters voice comfirm a spot, someone will get him, but there will be no red mark on my mini map.

Christ, my skill level is 15! I might as well just smash keys and blindfold myself. I need to get better and quick.

So I played a round or two in the [ATOT] server last night - my name is [-UG-] SaveMeJebus.

I have no fucking clue what I'm doing in game (I'm stepping up from BF1942), but had fun nonetheless. I have no idea how to use class skills (like when someone looks at me and screams medic), how to identify enemies on the map, or basically how to do anything other than point my gun and shoot. Hell, I don't even know how to save the [ATOT] server as a favorite.

Is there some kind of list of commands/tips for multiplayer somewhere (that doesn't require me to go through 3200 posts in this thread)?

Lol, yea. His K/D ratio is 0.99 and his W/L ratio is 1.69. I'm not sure what he's constantly bitching about, but his stats are way better than mine.

Probably accustomed to a 2+ K/d ratio in MW2.

Heh, I remember you. You kinda surprised me by hitting me with your base assault gun a few times. 😀

Just remember when you are on the lower couple of levels with any class the only thing you can do is run n gun. You won't have a health pack, no ammo, not sure if you will have the repair tool(dont think so). So, you have you keep leveling up till you get that stuff. At the end of the game you can click 'unlock progression' on the top and it will show you how close you are to such items.

As for saving the server, when you find it there is a small down arrow right after the name. Click on that and a 3 item drop down menu appears which lets you save it.

Enemies are orange if they have been spotted.

Why not hop on the ATOT server one night and see how it goes there? We at least have PB streaming.

One other thing I was wondering, how do you get the secondary fire mode for vehicles? Is it one of the vehicle unlocks? I seemed to have it once with the UAV shooting machine guns but not anymore. Is the rocket launcher the secondary weapon on the B3A3?

Tell me you AT LEAST read through the first 2500 messages? 😱 Why should we help you if you're not going to put forth any effort?

OK, OK.

IIRC, in BF1942, the Allies were always blue tags, and the axis were red tags. You you had to pay attention to what color you were and shoot the other color. Since BF2, no matter what side you are on, you always see your team as blue tags, and red tags are always the enemy. Green tags means that person is in your squad. These colors are used in the icons you see over players heads, and in the minimap.

Class gadgets are in your weapon slots, directly accessible from the 3 and 4 keys. For instance, if you are a medic and have them unlocked, the defibrillators will come up if you hit 3 (revive dead teammates), and a Health Pack will come up if you hit 4 (heal wounded teammates).
If you have enough previous Battlefield games registered on the Battlefield veterans site (two?), the basic class gadgets should already be unlocked for you from the beginning (if they have worked out all the bugs!). Otherwise, you will unlock the class gadgets by playing the class.

On the server list, there is a drop down menu icon to the immediate right of the server name. Add Favorite is an option there. Often, if you try to add a favorite from the full server list, it just sits there clocking and doesn't add the favorite. If you use the server name filter (above the filter checkboxes) to shorten the number of servers on the list (ie, put [ATOT] there), it should work very quickly.

Oh, and watch this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcZ3wXF3r14 (the Q button is the default spotting button on the PC)

Also, reviewing the OP ("the FAQ") might be beneficial.

That's all I have time for now...

It's a funny thing that lag thingy. I hopped on on a couple "Play Now " servers, one in .AU and one .SE, zero lag for me.

Now I play on a server 100 miles away and it's lag city WTF ?

Me too. I've had better connections to servers in France, than in Montreal...

upped it to 95 i think but it doesn't really seem to make a difference. should I go higher?

i was just wondering that myself. when I first played the game, the tank had a machine gun secondary fire in addition to the turret that i could use while driving. now it's gone. i thought maybe it was one of the unlocks i had, but i've tried them all and none add this back in.

The alternate fire vehicle perk gives you... alternate fire. It's the last one to be unlocked, IIRC.
