Everything is vanilla on the server right now and will probably stay that way until someone(s) request otherwise.

Just running the standard conquest rotation right now and mixing modes can't be done. The server needs a restart to change modes.

Also, the in game browser MAY be reporting pings wrong, according to my RSP.

Dude, what? Why in the world would they do that? So if we go pick a server to play on we need to pick what mode we feel like playing, and then play that mode, with no variety, until we want to leave and go pick a different server with a different mode? Horrible decision, DICE, in the midst of so many good decisions. In BF2142 you could rotate Conquest maps in with Titan maps, in with Northern Strike Assault maps. Variety is the spice of life, the last thing I want to do is play 25 rounds of the same mode every night I sit down to play! Looks like I'll be server-hopping.

Jesus there's already some people that are lvl 15 on there. They must have got it early yesterday and not stopped playing.

Probably level 15 in the class they play. I'm level 5 assault but barely a private, that's about an hour of play. Some people were getting 2 or 3 thousand points per round

if anyone wanTs to add me on friends my name is m0viestar.. The server runs well from denver I played don it last night with 3 or 4 others

So what's Conquest like compared to BF2? We got uncaps still? Are they protected by out of bounds mechanism as I think we were theorizing earlier in this thread?

My first full round and just got 15,960pts in that round. I was engie and was healing a squad APC. Kept it alive for a good 15min. Had squad members at every gun port except one left for me. I'd jump in every so often to get squad assist points and the occasional kill but got tons of repair points and got the long service maintenance badge and squad repair badge. Went from practically nothing to almost lvl 3 since I've been busy trying to get my FOV right.

Would love to get this for PC instead of 360, but I'm on an 8800GTS (Core 2 Duo @ 2.40, Win7 x64). I've been out of the loop and didn't know there was a PC demo, so I have no idea how well my system will run this. Really hard for me to justify a $200+ GPU upgrade since I hardly game on the PC anymore.

Your computer can run it just fine. Might not be able to run it on high everything but medium is probably xbox level and you'll run it at higher rez so it'll look better no matter what.

meh i got a copy off ebay for 29 bucks. probably get it like march 25th.. I have mass effect 2 to keep me busy

Yeah, I saw the specs but wasn't sure where I fell in the min/max spectrum. Oh well. Purchased off Steam and downloading now. I suppose worse case scenario is I find a way to rationalize a damn GPU upgrade LOL.

My poor wife.

Dammit. If I knew Steam still couldn't handle release day downloads, I'd have made the trip to Target.

Can't wait to get home and play. Reviews are looking very good. For some reason the reviewers seem to be docking the game some points for a short single player. Sorry, but if you're buying a Battlefield game for the single player....

this was for the beta - running a 3.0GHz e2160, 4GB of ram, xp and a 512MB 4850 and run @1920x1200 on medium and the gameplay actually feels probably in the upper 20s, low 30s (actually verfied via fraps later) at the min. very playable w/ this setup which i thought would be extremely tight even if i lowered the resolution.

drop it to 1440x900 if you want more speed. i honestly didn't think my old rig would play it @ 1920x1200 more than single digit fps.

on another note - in the in game server browser, can you sort and search servers? can you add friends now?

Hell, I think Ars got it right: all it needs to do is suck less than MW2. I haven't heard any rumors of 15-foot stabbings and hey, it has dedicated servers (shocking for a PC title), so it's already won before it hits my HDD.

this part kind of gets to me - dedicated but exclusive - so can't run one @ home for friends. when i didn't have the bandwidth all the servers were able to run from anywhere, now that i have the needed upload bandwidth, servers are exclusive....🙄

Hehe... yeah. I'd have bought it for the PC, but if I'm stuck with p2p I might as well do it across Live. Still, I can't much stand the game. The most frustrating love/hate relationship I've ever been in, and that includes a psychotic set of DD's I dated in college.

Back in the day (CS 1.3, SOF2, UT2k4, etc) I loved running servers for my friends, but these days I just want the damn thing to work and work fast. If this exclusivity means fast servers without a bunch of stupid mods, then I'm cool with it :sneaky:

For around $150 you can get a 5770, which should give you a decent boost in performance.
